mia

today is mias 1st birthday, and the rain that had dumped onto LA had cleared, welcoming a beautiful sunny morning.

for november, the weather was excellent, maybe mother nature knew that today was stellas birthday and wanted to make sure the weather matched her sunny attitude.

stella was wriggling around her highchair as ian tried to feed her pancakes, but she kept giggling and moving her head out of the way.

i cannot believe that stella had grown so much in one year and my love for her grows more each day.

stella was beautiful, her hair had turned dark brown and her skin grew paler. her long black eyelashes compliment her gorgeous soft blue eyes.

"okay, here it is," max grinned, walking into the kitchen dragging in a huge amazon box behind him.

i let out a sigh, tossing the dish towel onto the counter. "max, i told you no big presents." i groaned, crossing my arms over my chest.

"yeah, whatever. i gotta figure out how to put it together," max grinned and stellas head whipped around at his voice.

ian picked her up from her highchair and placed her down on the floor where she ran over to max.

"happy birthday, princess!" he smiled, scooping her up and tickling her, making her let out some giggles.

"go have some breakfast and then you can open your presents," he smiled, walking over and putting her back down into her highchair.

and max dragged the box out of sight into the living room, and i looked at ian.

"it's from both of us, stellas gonna love it." he grinned, holding out a piece of pancake that stella picked up and ate quietly.

"as if you two don't buy her enough presents that we had to empty out your old office to make her a play room." i laughed, crossing my arms infront of my chest.

"hey, we're her uncles, what else am i supposed to do?" he smiled, passing stella another piece of pancake.

stellas birthday party was today, but i was only planning on having three moms and their babies over, two of them were planning on bringing their husbands so they can socialize with max and ian.

it was so nice outside we could definitely use some of our patio furniture in the backyard, the lemon trees were producing bright yellow lemons, some of which had fallen to the ground, but most were still stuck on the green, lush branches.

i had picked up most of the food for today and mini cupcakes that we would stick a candle in for stellas "birthday cake".

i placed my cup of coffee down and looked into the backyard, it looked especially beautiful in the morning light.

"okay, i think i got it!" max called out, and i smiled, wiping off stellas face which was covered in syrup from her pancakes, and i placed her down on the floor.

i turned around to rinse her sippy cup but noticed stella was waiting for me. "mama! go!" she smiled, and my heart melted everytime she called me mama.

"okay, honey. you want more juice?" i asked, "yes!" she exclaimed, tugging at the bottom of my white dress.

and i followed stella into the living room, where max and ian were already standing infront of their present, which was covered with a throw blanket from the couch.
