i had fucked up during the fight with mia last night, i didn't mean to put her in a position where she was forced to decide how she felt about me, but i love her too much to wait any longer.
i want to sleep in the same bed with her, go out on dates with her, cuddle with her and raise stella knowing her parents are so madly in love with eachother.
i hadn't slept well last night, i just kept thinking about how bad i felt.
now it was 9 am, and i was starting the coffee in the kitchen while mia was giving stella a bath upstairs.
max and ian had been gone all day, leaving mia and i alone, and we hadn't had an actual conversation since last night.
i poured some coffee into mias mug, adding her regular amount of milk and sugar.
and as i started to make my coffee i heard stellas little voice from behind me.
"dada!" and i turned around to see stella stumbling into the kitchen, running towards me with her arms out.
her little pale chubby legs carried her over to me, and you can't help but smile when you see stella first thing in the morning. her soft pink onesie is wrinkled and her hair is a messy, dark nest on the top of her head.
i smiled, leaning down and scooping her up, kissing her little nose softly.
"goodmorning sweet pea," i smiled, as she giggled in my arms. she's always so energetic in the mornings and i don't know how mia dealt with it by herself for so long.
i held her on my side while stirring in the rest of the creamer in mias coffee, and as i turned around i saw mia walk into the kitchen.
she was wearing an oversized sweater from her old university, and black shorts, her hair had been tied up before she went to sleep, and now pieces had fallen to frame her face.
we both opened our mouths and at the same time in unison, the words "i'm sorry about last night" both tumbled from our mouths.
and i let out a laugh, and mia started to laugh as well, running her hand over her eyes.
i handed mia her cup of coffee and she thanked me, holding the cup up to her mouth and taking a sip, her eyes widened.
"you remembered how i like it," she smiled softly.
"of course i did." i nodded, taking a sip of my coffee.
and once stella was calm and eating breakfast, mia and i sat down at the kitchen table while stella was busy with her fruit.
"i'm really sorry about last night, i didn't mean to--" i stuttered but was cut off by mia.
"no, it's okay. i shouldn't have--"
"no, babe-- shit sorry, i meant mia. no, mia it's not okay. i shouldn't have pressured you to make a decision or anything." i stuttered, her cheeks immediately flushing with colour.
"i know you want to stay, and stella definitely wants you to stay too." mia nodded, her nails tapping against her ceramic mug.
"well, what do you want?" i asked, and mia began to chew on her bottom lip, and she opened her mouth to say something but before she could speak, max walked into the kitchen.
