"mama! juice! mama!" i heard stella start to cry and i rubbed my eyes, sitting up. the sun had started to bleed through the curtains, casting rays of yellow onto the wood floorboards.
i rolled over to see joji was still asleep, i felt too bad to wake up so i got up from bed, walking over to the crib and scooping stella up.
"goodmorning angel girl," i smiled, making my way out of the bedroom as quietly as possible with stella on my hip.
the sun had made the cabin look even sweeter and i was so excited we still had a couple days here.
i walked to the fridge and pulled out some fruit to cut up and some of stellas green juice. i made a pot of coffee so it would be ready for the boys when they got up and i scooped up stella and her breakfast.
i sat down on the porch swing and placed stella next to me, pouring some green juice into her sippy cup.
the morning light shone onto the lake, which was calm today, and looked a beautiful green colour.
the trees were swaying in the early morning wind and i was so tempted to stay here forever. stella would love growing up here.
"what do you wanna do today stells? we could go swimming, or we could go for a hike, or--" i started to mumble, while handing stella blueberries to eat.
"swimming! pool!" she smiled, kicking her feet and eating her blueberries.
"there's no pool, honey. it would be in the lake," i laughed, taking a sip of green juice. "lake?" she babbled, and i pointed to the lake infront of us.
i heard the porch door swing open and ian came stumbling out, with a cup of coffee in his hand.
"do you we have advil?" he mumbled, plunking down next to me, taking some of stellas blueberries.
"i only have baby advil in my bag, and don't steal from your niece, please." i laughed, moving stellas bowl of fruit closer to her.
"swimming! lake!" stella grinned, looking up at ian, "it might be cold today, bug. we can always force max to test the water first for us," he laughed, running a hand through stellas hair.
the porch door swung open again and max came out, sitting down on the porch infront of us.
"can i have some of those, stella?" max asked, pointing to stellas bowl of fruit, stella happily passed the bowl to max.
"you guys! that's her breakfast, there is food for you in the fridge," i sighed, trying to stifle my laugh.
after everyone had sobered up and joji still hadn't got up from bed, i brought stella inside to go wake him up.
and before i could even place my hand on our bedroom door knob, the front door opened and in came joji, holding 4 cups of and a bag of muffins.
stella ran over to him, "papa! up!" she giggled and he placed the cups and bag down on the counter, leaning down to scoop her up and kiss her cheek.
"where did you go?" i asked, smiling at how happy stella was with him.
"it's mother's day weekend, i got treats for everybody. and matcha with soy milk for you, obviously." he grinned, as stella tugged on his chain.
i blushed and ian and max bust in from outside, thanking joji for the coffee and the muffins.
"lake! swim! mumma, swim!" stella mumbled, turning to face me, "alright, whose ready to go swim?" i smiled, turning to the boys.
joji
mia and i were sitting on a blanket on the sand, watching max and ian swim with stella in the lake.
