Chapter 18: Happy Birthday

ARIANA'S POV:

I wanted to know more because I was confused but I controlled my curiosity and stayed silent. His mood suddenly worsened as he talked about Desmond's niece and it was pretty clear that he didn't want anyone near him. Even though I tried to stay with him... to not leave him alone in this condition... to make him feel better when he was hurt, I ended up being hurt by his cold and distant attitude because no matter how hard I try to get closer to him... he would keep on reminding me that I'm a no one to him. Sometimes by words and sometimes by his attitude. Honestly, my feelings for him made things even harder for me. I never wanted to feel this way for anyone... I didn't want myself to be heartbroken because I had a lot more things to worry about. Tougher things. But perhaps... I ended up falling for the wrong person.

I went back to my room and tried to sleep. It was almost morning when I fell asleep because my mind was clouded by various thoughts and fake scenarios to escape the reality. I woke up with Kylie enthusiastically singing the happy birthday song. I removed the blanket from my face and looked at her just to notice that Damien, Liam and Xander were also present there. I rubbed my eyes as Kylie said, "Good morning, birthday girl! Happy birthday to you!"

Liam joined her with a genuine smile and said, "Happy birthday, Ari."

Damien clapped his hands and excitedly screamed, "Happy birthday, Ri Ri!"

Liam faced him and said, "It's Ari, dumbass."

Damien rolled his eyes and said, "I know but I'm allergic to 'A'."

Liam repulsed out of disgust and on the other hand, Kylie kept a chocolate cake in front of me along with some gifts. This made me emotional. I wasn't accustomed to people doing so much for me on my birthday. Only my mother used to wish me as much as I remembered. So, I emotionally asked, "All of you did this for me? For my birthday...?"

My mood revolves around being hungry, horny, angry and a cry baby so during this emotional moment, I almost shed a tear. Kylie noticed my sentimental ass and in a denying manner said, "Before you get too emotional or before I surprise you even more, just have a look at Xander."

My eyes shifted to Xander who was wearing a fucking barbie birthday cap! He was looking so hilarious in the cap that I started laughing hard! He looked at me with a straight and 'what the fuck' face. It was obvious that he was forced to wear it.

"Sorry, but that's hilarious!" I exclaimed out laughter.

Xander rolled his eyes and said, "That's it! I'm taking this shit off my head!"

Kylie looked at him and exasperately stated, "Hey, don't you dare spoil the fun!"

However, Xander didn't give a fuck as usual and took off the cap. Kylie shouted, "ALL OF MY BROTHERS ARE ASSHOLES!"

She rolled her eyes when Liam and Damien yawned after listening to her statement, turned around and cheerfully said, "Now, it's time for surprise number two! We're gonna have a party at the private bar of Sapphire Shields and we also have the VIP lounge all by ourselves, tonight!"

I was so excited and joyous! I'll be having my birthday party at the most luxurious hotel in America. I clapped out of excitement.

Kylie looked concerned as she asked, "Before that, we need to buy you some new dresses and accessories. But, for that you need to come to the mall with us and..."

She turned around to face Xander who was crossing his arms and looking at me with a neutral face. After what happened the last time we said we were going to go to the mall, I highly doubted that he'd let me go. I sighed. I was a little disappointed but then he said, "I'm not gonna say no today and saying no won't do any good either to your stubborn ass either!"
