After their fight with the boys the girls began cleaning up the area, helping out the towns people and doing a few interviews. They were still pretty wounded and worn out but Bubbles managed to keep her signature bubbly smile on at all times.
She was talking to a news reporter while her sisters helped the remaining civilians scattered around the area. Talking to reporters was usually her thing since Blossom was far too blunt with people and Buttercup was not a people person to say the least. Yet Bubbles could talk all day long to anyone and make them feel at ease while also providing good answers. If only she could talk her way out of fighting Butch. The more she thought about it the more she actually wanted to try it out. It couldn't hurt could it? Or maybe that would just make him hit her harder.
Breaking herself from her thoughts she turned back to listen to what the reporter was saying. "—goodness how did you manage to handle a one on one with the berserk ruff? Can you give us any insight on what they're like now?". Bubbles could only hold her smile as she lived up to her title of the joy and the laughter. "Well Mr. Banks, i'm not as weak as I look. All I could do in all the confusion was stand my ground and defend my home. As far as the boys go, I think they just grew up. Same as us. I'm not sure how to describe Butch too much since I never really got to fight him or even talk to him when we were younger. We never paid each other much attention until now so I can't judge his character based of of today alone", she answers trying her best to give Butch the benefit of the doubt.
Mr. Banks, the reported, suddenly snorted, "how could you say some so positive about someone who doesn't even deserve it. I mean just look at what he did today, what he did to you", this caught Bubbles off guard. Everyone deserved a bit of positivity to her. "Mr. Banks we're all human beings, well sorta haha. But we all deserve to be treated with respect and kindness. No matter the situation", with that she turned to go help her sisters and to avoid any further questions.
After about 2 hours of doing good deeds Bubbles and her sisters headed back home not even bothering to go back to class. They were greeted at the door by the Professor who started questioning them, "is it true that they're back? Were they stronger? Why did they switch up the fight? How bad are the wounds? Can you-", he was about to keep going until Blossom raised her voice over his, "it's fine! We're fine, we'll be healed up by tomorrow Professor no need to worry about us. The boys haven't gotten any stronger than us they just got smarter", she explained as she went to go sit on the couch to take off her boots and coat. "Yeah no kidding, they practically had us running around like fools all day but you just wait till' I get my hands on their sorry throats", Buttercup seethed as she collapsed on the couch next to Blossom. Bubbles went over to the Professor and gave him a soft reassuring hug. "It wasn't all too bad, we're still here in one piece aren't we?", she smiled warmly up at the Professor. She was lying and she knew that her sisters knew this. But the Professor was eased at her words and only gave her a soft kiss on the forehead before heading back into his lab.
Bubbles let out a soft sigh and collapsed right on top of Buttercup. "Aack! Bubbles I just got back from getting thrown into a wall for the love of God!", she squirmed under her sister's weight but couldn't contain her smile. Bubbles only giggled and buried her head into Buttercup's hair. It smelled of fresh grass and some vanilla scented shampoo.
Blossom only rolled her eyes at their antics before getting up and also collapsing on top of Bubbles making them just a stack of bodies. They were there for a good 15 minutes laughing and actually talking while maintaining that exact position. Buttercup soon grew quiet after a while before speaking up. "We need to do something about this situation fast before they come back and actually beat us". Blossom got off the pile and grabbed her phone, "we're gonna start having to train in ways we've never trained before. Bubbles, you're going to have to focus on strength and resistance, who knows what Butch has up his sleeve next time. Buttercup, you're going to have to start thinking before you run into your opponent head first, and actually have a strategy planned. As for me, i'm going to have to throw strategy out the window and start improvising", with that she sent us each a message of training activities and retreated to her room.
Buttercup followed shortly after, leaving Bubbles on the couch alone with her thoughts. I really have to get my game plan together if I wanna beat Butch. Slowly she started heading over to her room and began removing her dirt and blood soaked clothes. With a small frown she decided it was best to just throw them away all together instead of trying to salvage them.
After a quick shower she descended deep into her bed surrounded by all her stuffed animals and in the middle of them all was Octi of course. She couldn't help but think about her fight with Butch. Was she really so weak in his eyes? Well she does keep her hair up in pigtails ever since she was 5 so she'll give him that. But she's worked just as hard as her sisters to be a good hero right? Surely she's strong enough to fight him if the boys decided he was going to be fighting her from now on. They wouldn't actually try to seriously hurt her or even kill her right? No, of course not that's silly. Of course they're enemies and everything but they've never intentionally tried to kill them before. So this was no different.
She finally settled in nicely and hugged Octi close slowly falling into a calming slumber.
