My sister pulls up to the driveway, turns off the car and just sits there. "Remember, don't mention anything about us talking to the Rodriguez." she said with a stern voice. "Ya I know o si no we're dead meat." My sister and I laugh and walk in the house. The only one in there was my mom and brother Miguel.

"Where were u both?" My mom asks. "We went to Ruby's to eat." My sister answers back. "Oh ok but I made food maybe u both can eat later." "Where's dad and Oscar?" I ask while looking around. "Oh they went to the body shop with uncle Pedro to fix some things on Oscar's car." My brother answers back. "Mom can I talk to you for a second?" I ask my mom. "Ya for sure mija. Let's go to the backyard." "Ok." I put my bag in my room and go the back where my mom is already sitting in one of the chairs. I sit down next to her and start talking.

"So what's the problem mija?" "Um..." I take a deep breath, "mama? It's something really difficult to say because of the past." "Oh what is it?" She asks concern. I sigh. "Mama? I really like Benny... like a lot." She just stays quiet and stares out into the grass. "Mama? Pls say something." My mom sighs, "Go for it."then she smiles. "What?" I ask confused. "Mija I seen him, he's different from he's family. He's a nice boy and si tiene corazon." (He has warm heart.) "wait mama like actually? Ur fine with me liking him?" "Yes mija. I can't control ur feelings just be careful around ur brothers and with ur dad especially." I smile, "ok mama, I promise." I hug her and she hugs me back. "Alright get inside because then your dad is gonna be here soon and so is your brother." "Ok mama."

I walk in back to the house and I felt a grab pull me in a room. I look up and it's my sister. "You didn't say that we hung out with the boys did u? DID U?!?" "No!! So chill Jaz." "Ok good, sorry I pulled your arm." She let's go of it. "It's fine." Then I hear a horn honk and u run outside. I run to my dad and give him a hug. "Whoa what's the occasion?" He says while hugging me back. "Nothing I'm just happy I finished school today." "Oh ok." "Where's my hug hermanita?" My brother Oscar says. I roll my eyes then give him a hug as well then he hugs me back.

"Alright let's get inside already. I'm hungry." We all go inside then my dad and brother say hi to my mom and siblings. "What did u make amor?" My dad asked my mom while kissing her in the cheek. " Ewwww" me and Miguel say in sync. My mom just gives a death stare and me and my brother pretended we didn't say anything. "I made enchiladas for everyone but Jasmine and Lena already ate Ruby's after school." My mom says. "Oh ok." Dad says. Everyone sits down and my sister and I head to our rooms.

I throw myself in my bed and turn on the radio. The song '𝘗𝘶𝘱𝘱𝘺 𝘓𝘰𝘷𝘦' 𝘣𝘺 𝘗𝘢𝘶𝘭 𝘈𝘯𝘬𝘢 starts playing. I just turn my head towards the ceiling and start day dreaming. I start thinking, 'I wonder what Benny is doing?' Then I remember he gave me his number to his own telephone. So I call it and then he picks up. "Hello?"

When my brother and I got home, my dad was home sitting in the dining table eating already with the rest of the family. "Where were u guys we've been waiting for you." My mom says. "Sorry the bus took forever and then we stopped at Ruby's." My brother answers making an excuse. "Oh ok well go get washed up. Especially you Benny." Before I walked away my dad asked, "oh Benny so how was the game today?" I turned to look at him. "It was really good! I won the game for us because I was last to bat." "ESO mijo." My dad says while standing up to give me a high five. I high five m him back and I say hi to my sisters then I go to the bathroom, take a shower then change to a white tank top with my plaid pajama pants. I walk into my room then my phone rings. I answer it, "hello?"

B: who's this?
E: Hey Benny it's me Elena.
B: oh hey Elena what's up?
E: nothing much just kind of got bored here at home.
B: same here
E: hey I was gonna ask if u wanted to go with me real quick to the ice cream shop?
B: oh ya for sure just let me put on my shoes and get my hoodie.
E: ok give me a second because I still haven't changed from my clothes from school
B: oh alright just call me back then we can go.
E: alright cya then. Bye
B: bye
Then we both hung up.
