(pov back. This chapter will be filled with a lot of short time skips. (like a few days between each)
Everyone around wore black, and we gathered in the family cemetery. We all stared at father's grave. Everyone around me cried their own tears of grief and sadness, but, there were no tears left in me. I felt utterly empty inside.
I had taken, not one, but two lives, and I've lost two of the most important people to me.
Father and Toya.
~~~~~~~
For the past few days, I've done nothing but stay in my room and read. I haven't talked to anyone, not even Shoto. Around dinner time, I left my room to get a snack from the kitchen.
"Is ___ okay?" I heard Eri say from inside the dining hall. "I miss her. She looks so sad when I see her."
"She's just grieving in her own way," Katsuki said. "Don't worry, squirt. She'll be her old self soon enough."
"I hope so," Eri said. "It's not the same without her."
"I have to agree," Shoto said. "I've never seen her so upset. She's even begun shutting me out."
"At least I'm not the only one," Kiri muttered.
"My master is strong. She'll bounce back soon enough."
~~~Time skip~~
"___?" Kiri said. "I just wanted to check on you since your coronation is tomorrow."
"I'm fine," I said as I wrapped my robe around my wet body.
"Can I come in?"
"No."
Kiri sighed. "____. Everyone's worried about you. I'm worried that-" Kiri paused. I leaned against my door and sighed.
"Good night, Kirishima."
"Oh. Uh," he muttered. "Good night."
..
Shoto stood on the balcony of the castle that hovered above the kingdom. People gathered around below us, and our Friends stood behind us.
"I hereby announce you, King Shoto Todoroki and Queen ____ Todoroki!"
The crowd below us cheered. Behind us, everyone cheered and Katsuki whistled loudly. "Hell yea!" Shoto and I looked at eachother and smiled.
~~~~~~~~~~~~
After a large celebration, everyone was asleep. The castle was silent, except for the sound of light footsteps.
"Where the hell do you think you're going:" Katsuki said.
Kiri froze. "Bakubro," he said. "I was-"
"Leaving?" Katsuki said.
Kiri sighed. "Yeah. The princess- I mean. The queen, she doesn't need me around anymore. She thinks I'm a monster," Kiri muttered under his breath.
"She doesn't."
"You might not think so, but I can see it in her eyes. My presence alone causes her pain- I know it."
"Well, if you think I'll let you leave by yourself, you're definitely an idiot."
"You should stay here. Live in a castle with plenty of food and water. You'd get the life you deserve here, and you can be with her."
Katsuki scoffed. "Shut the hell up. We've always been together, so I'll be damned if I'll let you leave alone. You'd probably get yourself killed without me." He chuckled. "C'mon. Let's go, brother."
~~~~~~
The next day, I woke up and actually went to breakfast. To my surprise, it seemed like everyone was gone. "Where is everyone?"
"Izuku left this morning to travel with All Might, and Ochako left with him to go back to her parents."
"I know that. What about everyone else?"
"Hawks is on patrol, and Bakugo and Kirishima are just gone."
"They're... gone?" I muttered. "Maybe they went out. Katsuki is always outside at night."
"Their stuff is gone," Shoto said. "I'm sorry. I checked this morning when I didn't see them and-"
A tear slipped down my cheek. "Alright. Thank you, Sho," I said before leaving the dining hall.
Welp! This is the end...
of part one!
I'm splitting this book into two parts. Stay tuned!
