After that night Marshall and Everest, Chase and Skye got closer to each other, they often play with each other.
They were always paired with each other when playing volleyball and soccer.
The other pups also started shiping them, they started shouting and chanting team names like MarVerest or SkySe whenever they did something sweet even if it was an accident, which of course made them turn into tomatoes.
The Valentine's day is one day away and Marshall is in a pickle, he couldn't figure out a way to ask Everest out, and so does Chase. Everest and Skye also thought of this.
And tried to figure out a way together.
On the last day and last chance to ask they're crushes, Chase and Marshall had to wing it.
Marshall saw Everest talking to skye at the yard, he ran forward, too nervous to notice the tree root, he tripped and accidentally crashed into Skye causing them to touch lips.
Both Everest and Chases mouth hang open, then tears ran down their chin.
"Uh. I'm SORRY I DIDN'T MEAN TO--" Before Marshall could finish, Everest ran crying.
"EVEREST WAIT I DIDN'T MEAN TO IT WAS AN ACCIDENT!!!" He shouted as he ran after her.
Skye finally snapped back, when she noticed chase looking at her, crying and then ran off.
"Chase wait!" She ran after him too.
Meanwhile.. Marshall kept running after Everest but lost her. She saw her figure by a nearby cliff next to the ocean, somewhere where little Hootie use to live, she sat if a flat stone rock still sobbing.
"Everest..." He approached her slowly.
"Go away!" She yells
" It was an accident, please let me explain." Marshall said starting to tear up.
" No.. there's nothing to explain... There were never us, so you have nothing to say." She said still sobbing.
" But.." " just go.. I want to be alone..."
Before he could say anything she cut him off.
Marshall couldn't bare it, his entire body is tensing he wasn't mad of her he could never be mad at her, rather he was mad at himself.
*Bang!* Everest heard a bashing noise from behind her. She turned around to see what was that about, when she did her eyes stared at Marshall wide open.
Marshall had his paw raised as he punched the nearest tree, a crack appeared but thankfully his paw wasn't badly harmed just some bruises.
"I'm useless... I made the girl I love cry twice! What kind of pup am I!" He cursed himself gritting his teeth.
After a while he dropped his paw down from the tree and slowly waked away.
Everest was still shock but forced herself to look away from him.
"He's just putting an act. He's not really... Right?..."she thought to herself, many questions came to her mind. Until...
"Yoouu with the saaad eyes...🎶"
She heard his voice...
"Don't be discouraged, oh I realized...🎶"
Marshall tuns around.
" It's hard to take couurage, in a world full of people..🎶
"You can lose sight of it all..🎶"
He starts walking back.
"The darkness inside you..🎶"

Marshall finally arrives beside her.

He turns her head towards him.

He paused for a while... Everest finally smiles.
And he smiled back.

After the song long silence took over... They just stared at each other...
The sun goes down, and colored the entire sky orange, it was a beautiful scenery to be hold.
"Still angry?..." He broke the silence.
"No... " She said and started to smile a little.
"Do you really ...mean what you said?.." she asked.
"Hmm..? What did I say?.." Marshall said putting on a fake confused look.
"You still won't admit do you?" She chuckled.
" Alright... I do mean it." He said looking at the sun.
Everest leans against him enjoying their time alone, watching the sun set.
"So will you be..." " Yes.." she answered before he could finish asking. He moved closer to her they looked at each other...and gave her a kiss... It was a good while before they broke apart smiling.
"Marshall..."
"Yeah?"
"Why do you like me?" She asked.
"To be honest... I don't know either." He said.
"I just felt that you were different from other pups that I've met. You make me happy, you inspire me to be become the best I can be, I just want to be with you I don't care where we are, it's like... My life has been dull and grey until you came in."
He said smiling.
"what about me? I'm clumsy and always messes things up, I don't see any reason why you like me." He said.
" You're looking down on your self, that's the one thing I don't like about you." She said reaching for his paw. " You're a great pup Marshall. You're kind, caring, brave, funny, you'd do anything for your family. And that's good enough for me." She said smiling back at him.
" Is paw ok?" She asked looking at the bruised paw.
"Yeah, at least it's just numb." He replied reassuring her.
" Good, and next Time, don't punch a tree willy nilly." She chuckled.
" Sorry I won't." He chuckled.
"Should we tell them?" She asked.
"Nah, let's wait for a while." He said still looking at the sun setting.
"Ok.." she said.
