Chapter 23: Worry

Meanwhile outside the lookout, the pups we're playing volleyball. Zuma and Ruble were together, Rocky and Chase were on the other team. Skye and Everest was just watching while talking to each other. However none of them stopped worrying for Marshalls condition.

Chase was one of the most worried, during the game he wasn't really focused, he let a few balls get pass him, since he was used that Marshall was always getting clumsy making them laugh, it was like a routine to him by now as well as the other pups.

Everest was of course even more worried, she wasn't used to the energetic pup, that usually cheers everyone up and helping them get better, was the one that needs help and care this time.

They've been playing till afternoon, they didn't notice it since all of them were lost in there thought.
Chase finally calls out for the night.

"Guys I think it's getting late, we should call it a day." Chase said, his voice wasn't actually lively or commanding like it used to be.

"Yeah, maybe we could see how Marshall is doing first?" Ruble suggested.

"Yes! Let's go see him!" Hearing the suggestion, Everest suddenly got lively again. The pups all stared at her making her embarrassed of her overreaction.

"I mean.. maybe it's time to check on him." Everest quickly explained.

" Yeah sounds good, let's go!" Rocky said as all of them started walking back.
Skye walked near Everest and whispered.
"Why didn't you just tell them you and Marshall are an 'Item' now?"

" I want him to be better first before we tell everyone, and you two could also tell them at that time." She whispered back.

" Sure I think that sounds like a good plan."
Skye agreed. They finally got in and quietly approached Marshall.

Marshall was looking better, he's not that hot than he was earlier. He has his water dish by his side while looking like his head is in the clouds.

"Hey bud, how you feeling?" Chase asked, his voice sounded with a lot of care, not with his usual professional attitude.

"I'm feeling ok." Marshall sounded a bit soar.

"You sounded a little hoarse." Everest said.

"No I'm little pup." He joked as they giggled.

" I think that was my line, but hey at least you're not a hot dog anymore. " Chase said.

" Umm Chase no offense, but that was like really bad." Marshall said and the other pups chuckled.

"Hey Marshall how are you feeling now?" Ryder arrived as he approached Marshall.

" A little better now thanks." He said.

"That's good." Ryder said giving Marshall a pat on the head.

" Oh and by the way, I didn't get the chance to tell you this earlier because of the urgency, but congratulations for you guys for winning that couple's singing contest!"
He announced.

Zuma: " Couple's"

Rocky: " Singing"

Ruble: "Contest?"

All three: "what ?"

"Does that mean you guys are a couple now???" Ruble hurriedly asked.

" um yeah about, 2 days ago." Chase said scratching his head.

" You mean all four of you.
Have been dating.
Without us knowing?" Rocky asked.

" Kinda , yeah." Skye confirmed.
