Chapter 20: Hatred

Marshall and Everest have been together for the past few hours of the night. It's almost 11: 40, it's pretty late for a pup to be still awake, and yet here we are.

MARSHALL POV:

"Hey Eve."

"Yeah?" She asked back.

"Do you think Ryder would agree for us to take the cruise?" I asked looking far.

"I'm not really sure, but he better, we helped him with Katie didn't we? Hehe." She said .

" Hehe yeah I guess.. still you know Ryder he mostly thinks of other people before himself." I said.

" Well I really want to go... But, I don't want to leave adventure bay unless they don't need our help when there's trouble... "

" Well all we can do is listen to his reply. " I said. " Why are we heading home at this part of the town again? " I asked.

" I don't know I just feel like it. " She said with a shrug.

We kept walking for a while. It was a long walk since we're not used to this part of town.

"We've been walking for a while now and it's pretty late, it's not safe at this time."
I said.

" Maybe let's try not to draw attention. "
She said getting closer to me. I kept a lookout just in case. But I was pretty tired and my vision is slightly blurring up.

"I'm so tired..." She said resting her head on my shoulder.

"Come on I'll carry you."

"No. It's ok I know you're pretty tired too. " She refused.

" I really wished we brought our vehicles right now... " I said.

" It's ok, I'm the one that Suggest we go this way back. " She said taking the blame.

I saw two lights in front of the road moving closer towards us.
Suddenly the Black car pulled over in front of us. Two men dressed in black got out.
They look very muscular.

Also to be clear Marshall was only fighting like a human meaning, he was standing on his hind legs while using his two front paws as fists, he's not really human.

"Looky here two pups walking together in the middle of the night, awww are you two lost? Wanna let me take give you a ride home?" One of the two men said.

" Yeah don't worry, we're not gonna hurt you." The other one said while reaching for Everest.

Before he could touch her however, a paw knocked his hand away .

"Hmm?" He was surprised that such a small dog could knock his hand away that easily.

"Some how I don't think you're telling the truth." Marshall said giving him a cold glance.

" Hmp! I was just trying to help,yet you repay me with that kind of response?" The man said with a grunt.

" If you really wanna help, I suggest you stand back. That's the last and final warning I'll give." He said getting pretty annoyed.

" Mutt I'll also give you an advice, come with us peacefully or we'll have to use other... Measures. " The other man said giving a cold glance.

" I'd like to see what measures you are talking about." He said with a provocative smile.

Meanwhile Everest was a little surprised that the Dalmatian had this side of him too.
"Is this really the clumsy, Silly Marshall I know?" While she thought to her self one of the two men closest to them tried to grab them again.

"Well you asked for this mutt, now you got it coming!"
Everest was scared she couldn't move in time. She closed her eyes shut waiting on what's to come.

Strangely however, nothing happened.
She opened her eyes only to see that Marshall was clutching the man's hand he used to try and grab her.
She surprised to see this kind of thing, specially from Marshall.

"I don't think you heard the first time, so I'll say it again... Move or it'll get messy fast. " Marshall said now really mad.

" Puny dog! " The other man finally made a move, he jerked forward throwing a punch at Marshall's side.
Marshall saw this and used his pup-fu skills to side step, making the attack miss him.

He then followed up with the kick on the first man's stomach making him take
3 steps backwards.

Not wasting anytime he dashed towards the second man gathering his center of gravity to his left hind leg while throwing a Punch to his side, sending him backwards.

"How is he this strong?!" The first man thought shock filling his heart. Marshall didn't notice this because he was busy dodging and sending counter attacks at the other man.

Everest was even more shock. She knew Marshall was a yellow belter on pup-fu, but she never imagined he's this strong when enraged.

While she was thinking, she noticed the other man was pulling something out from his pocket.... A gun.

"MARSHAAALL!!!" She shouted while running towards him. Marshall didn't notice what was happening until he heard her scream, followed by a "BANG!" Sound and something piercing a piece of clothing then flesh.

He turned around, seeing everest had blood coming out of her right shoulder.

"EVEREEEST!" He finally yelled. At that time, everything seemed to stop again...
He couldn't feel his heart beating, but when it did again, it was like a trigger. It felt so strong his entire body seemed to stop functioning.

Everest was just standing there. However her consciousness was quickly leaving her body. Until she couldn't keep her self steady anymore and started falling. But before she did, she thought she saw Marshall glow.
"I think this.. is finally it.. at least.... Y-your ... Ok...", after that she completely passed out, falling.

But before she could hit the ground, a figure suddenly appeared and caught her body, slowly laying her down.

Marshall was now glowing completely white, his spots were gone not even a sign that they were even there.
The only other color that can be seen on him was his cold blue emotionless eyes, his black jacket was also starting to slowly burning off him...
Anger, hatred, Sadness and Bloodlust. That was the only thing he felt right now.
He looked at Everest..... Then moved his gaze towards the two.
