14 - A Short Hello

"He and yo nephew coming out with a couple of our friends."

"Heh my sisters didn't even tell me. " he chucked.

I didn't really realize it, but Mrs. Claudia and James moms is Nathan older sisters. I've known both of them since kindergarten and they never mentioned him.

"Yea so I wanted to know if I could borrow yo truck to go pick them up. "

"Oh that's ok. I'll have Paulo go out and pick them up. "

"No need for that Nathan. "

"You sure you don't want me to go. "

"Nathan yo I'm good I promise, I just need to go pick them up. I will have to truck back in one piece I promise. " I sound like I'm begging, but I need to explain to Nathan alone why I'm living with his uncle.

"Alright. Well uh ... be safe. " He said awkwardly. He handed me over the key that unlocked his cabinet of keys. I took it out his hands and thanked him. I walked off the pool roof and into the condo and into the lower level. I went into the basement part of the condo, I went into the locked room after unlocking it and went to the to the key cabinet. I took out the Escalade keys and went upstairs. I sat the keys on the counter and yelled for Kimani.

"Kimani, hurry up! I don't want to be late. "

She came running from the back with a princess and the frog shirt on, with her favorite tutu on, and some jelly sandals.

"Where are we going Lolo? " I still haven't told her because I want it to be a surprise.

"It's a surprise girl now come on and grab yo jacket. " She picked it up and I looked at myself in the mirror. I had on a maxi skirt, a crop shirt, and some flip flops.

"Alright let's go. "

I sat outside the airport in the pick up area, after a 45 minute drive Mani was slumped in the backseat. Their plane landed 30 minutes ago, but knowing them. They taking forever to get they bags and to walk. I sat back in the seat and closed my eyes thinking bout my dad.

Before I could get into deep thought, I heard a knock on the window. I looked up and saw Hasan standing there. I ran out the truck and ran into his arms.

"I missed you ma" he whispered in my ear as he pulled my face and gave me a kiss.

"I missed you to" I said after we kissed. I kept hugging him until we were interrupted by Kimani banging on the window and calling his name. He ran up to the door and pulled on it and Mani jumped in his and hugged his neck.

"Aight shawty I can't breath." right before I was going to open up the trunk I hear London loud ass walking through the sliding doors.

"That bitch got me fucked up !"

"All she did was give you peanuts" James said pushing everybody luggage except Hansans.

"No that bitch threw them at me, fuck I look like ? A baseball player ? I oughta go back and smack the shit out of her with a pack of peanuts. " Aria laughed and ran up to me when she saw me. I hugged them both and gave James a hug. I opened the trunk and Hassan and James put the bags back in. I looked inside the truck and London and Aria sat in the backseat with Kimani and they saved James a seat all the way in the back.

"One of yall ain't gone sit up there with me?"

"Naw you good boo, that's you and mans seat.". Aria said irritably. I pushed it off and laughed getting the front of the truck. Hassan closed the trunk and got in next too me. I took off and drove off.

"Lotus who truck is this? This boi nice ! " London said feeling over the seats. I turned back to say something to make up a lie to her but I caught Hansans face. He looked shocked and mad, I just laughed at her kept driving.

"Real live shit Lotus. Why you got this night truck ? "Bee stood in the middle of a mall, people stopped to look at us while he screamed.

"What nigga ??" I said trying to act stupid.

"Don't play like you don't know! That nigga is dangerous. I should've fucking known when he was at yo house. " I guess I didn't have to tell him.

"How do you know ?"

"I ain't stupid ... he fucking you ? " he hissed as he whispered. I looked at him in disgust.

"Hell no Hasan ! Why would you even say that ! "

"I got my fucking reasons why you ain't tell me?"

"I ain't know how you was gone act." I looked him dead in his eye. He looked mad and then he softened his face.

"Why in you connect with that nigga?" He grabbed my arm and started walking again. James went with London , Aria , and Mani to go shop around.

"It's a long ass story."

"Where is yo dad ? " He tried to look calm but I knew he was mad.

"I don't even know Hasan ! A month ago he told me I was moving in with him cause he trust him and he just... I don't know. " For the first time in a long time I cried. I just wanted to be home again.

"Alright let me go talk to him and show me where he live. " He wrapped me in his arms and buried my face in his neck. We walked to the parking lot and rejoined back with everyone else. We got in the car in destination of Nathan's condo, only this time Hasan sat next to James whispering.

When we got in the condo and as soon as Nathan saw James and Hasan, he directed the rest of us to get out the room. As soon as they laid they eyes on each the tension built up. I just told Mani to go play with her toys and me, London , and Aria came with me to my bedroom.

"What you think they gone talk about ?" Aria said looking around my room.

"I don't know , but gah damn. Bitch he got you up here living nice ! I still don't like the nigga." they have the right not to like him.

"Yea it's nice I guess. " I sat on the couch and Aria sat on my bed looking at my work
uniform.

"Where you be wearing these at?" She held them up to her body and stood up.

"To the strip club where I work" London laughed and I thought about the fact that I got work tonight.

"Bitch stop playing." she threw the dresses back down.

"Nah I work at a club, and I got to work tonight so y'all should slide through. It's called Blu's. "

"Hell yes ! You get free drinks ?"

"Yeah I could get y'all free drinks. My boss out of town too"

Aria face changed when we started talking about alcohol.

"You good Ari?" I asked.

"Yeah. I can't drink though " she laughed and her eyes started to fill up with tears.

"Why girl you be the main one. " Me and London laughed.

"I can't drink cause I'm pregnant. "
