today we shall discuss:
cover shop etiquette
aka
things related to cover shops that maits finds high-key annoying but cannot possibly fit in a wattpad chapter title so here you go an ambiguous one as a placement chapter title
ik, it's very rich of me to rant about cover shops seeing that I've sort of done some of the stuff that's mentioned here. but hey we all grow up and cringe at our past selves.
most of these aren't even criticisms, but genuine problems that I am appalled are still existing. so, here I am, disguising a rant in the form of "tips". so yeah, if my list of problems have some fancy titles please ignore them - that's my silly little way of being shady.
also, i really don't wish to point fingers at ppl so this isn't exactly tea. but but but i will be a bit sharp-tongued than usual so please take my opinions with a pinch of salt. if you've exhibited any of the sort of behaviour I've mentioned, please don't feel bad. instead, take it in your stride and try and improve.
for the sake of context, I'm going to divide this into two segments: graphic designers aka cover shop owners and requestors.
with that out of the way,
let's begin ::
¹; basic comprehension
aka not reading rules. they're there for a reason. I can understand that you want to skip past to the templates to see how good the designer is. and then, if they fulfill your expectations, you immediately want to comment your request.
how about you stop right there, and scroll back up about, say, two times??
those rules actually contain a lot of details that are actually supposed to help YOU to avoid unpleasant encounters. stuff like cover limit or a password or a time period to use your requested graphics. and most of these shops' rules are pretty small tbh; they'll only take a few minutes to read.
