¹; open your desired image that you wish to edit on an app that lets you blend images in various modes
²; open your overlay and blend it with any suitable mode (for this particular texture, i recommend soft light, screen, overlay - rarely darken or hard light and never color, difference, exclusion, multiply).

this is a rebooted pack - that means the links have changed.
i was very confused between textures and overlays. while some of these are also textures, the textures pack will contain different resources than before. i've merged the two older packs together into one and made some other changes as well.
