My eyes stung from refusing to blink so I could watch Chris. His breathing slowed causing his chest to be frozen in place. His hand still covering his mouth, the tears creating tiny puddles where they collided on top of the connection from his fingers to his cheeks.
I didn't know how to read his reaction. After being together through so many obstacles, this was a reaction I have never seen. I waited for him to say something again.

"You're..pregnant." He whispered into his hand, his eyes locked on the positive pregnancy test. "We are going to have.." I inhaled sharply at his eyes finally meeting mine. "..a baby." The big smile curving his lips allowed more tears to fall from his eyes. He moved the laptop behind him to wrap me in his arms and hold me close to his body. We held each other in silence before I even noticed his body moving.
"Chris..why..are you shaking?" I stumbled on the words, sniffling. He held onto me tighter. "Chris?" I asked, nervously. Every possible answer to my question flooded my mind. He released me from the hug to sit up. I sat up along with him. I wiped away even more tears. His fingers from both hands held onto the test again. He must have been holding it in his hand the entire time. My eyes examined his movements again.
"I was going to ask you to marry me tonight." He whispered with a light chuckle and more sniffles.

"I'm sorry." I blurted out. The only words that I had managed to say confused us at the same time. We locked eyes and laughed awkwardly.
"Why are you sorry, baby?"
"I don't know." I rubbed my forehead with my fingers. "I ruined the proposal?" I grimaced. Chris shook his head again, practically rolling his eyes at me. He rolled his body off the bed, jogged into the giant walk-in closet to bring out a shoebox. Gently placing the shoebox onto the end of the bed, he opened it to bring out a small black box.
"Come here." He whispered. I hopped off the bed to stand in front of him. "It's not exactly where I was planning on proposing to you but..just like how we first met, it wasn't perfect. The timing of when we fell in love wasn't perfect. Starting a family.." His lips kissed my stomach over my shirt. I giggled, causing more tears to fall. "..isn't at the most perfect time for our careers." I nodded my head. "Every time you get that little smile when you kiss me." I sniffled, watching more tears build in his eyes. "The butterflies I still get before every time we make love."

"Still?" I asked, shocked. I shook my head. "I'm sorry, go on." He chuckled,  tightening his grip on my hands.
"When you make sure I always have clean socks." I giggled again. "The way your eyes light up when they look into mine. The adorable scrunched up face we give each other during interviews or at premieres." I scrunched my nose with him. We both laughed together at the facial expression on cue every time, even during this moment. "You are my beautiful rose. The love of my life, my best friend, my cheerleader. I can't imagine life without telling you how much I love you. That being said.." He lowered himself to one knee, opened the box and smiled up at me. "..Sarah Erin Rose. Will you marry me?"

"Yes!" I squealed. I didn't waste a second to answer. I wiped away the tears with my right hand as he slipped on a gorgeous ring onto my left hand's ring finger. My bottom lip automatically pouted at his gentle kiss on my hand. Our eyes met as he looked up at me from my hand. His lips tickled the skin.
"Am I still your bandaid?" He said, kissing my hand again. I shook my head slowly.
"You're more than that, babe." I placed my hands onto the sides of his face. "You're my glue gun." The words brought more tears to his eyes. He stood up to engulf me in his arms.
