Mykie zipped up my solid black dress. It was simple but tasteful with the thin straps resting on my tattooed shoulders and the length of the dress stopping right above my knees.
I messed around with my hair and shook my butt to the music blasting in the bathroom. Deeohgee's barking could only mean someone was at the front door so Mykie ran over to see who it was.
I sang along to a Pentatonix song as I buckled the straps on my heels. I stood up in front of my mirror again to check out my makeup one last time. Chris leaned against the doorframe holding a single rose.
"Oh, my god, baby..." He whispered. I giggled and spun around to show off. His eyes admired me from head to toe as he whistled. We walked up to each other, smiling uncontrollably. "...you are so beautiful." He whispered again, handing me the rose. I brought it up to my nose and inhaled the sweet smell.
"Thank you, handsome. You clean up pretty good, too." I ran my hands down his chest, admiring the black suit jacket and white shirt underneath. He turned his body and held out his arm. I hooked my arm around his.
"If we didn't have somewhere to be, I would rip that dress off." He whispered to me as we approached Mykie in the living room.
"You will when we go back to your place tonight." I whispered back and winked at him. Chris bit his bottom lip and nodded his head.
"Sarah, your phone has been ringing non-stop!" Mykie shouted from the couch.
"What's the ringtone?" I asked her, searching for my phone.
"'My Girl'."
"Shit. That's my dad calling."
"Aww, that's so cute." Chris whispered as he helped me search for my phone. I giggled at him but paused as I could hear the ringtone again. I exclaimed loudly when I finally found my phone in the small clutch next to the front door.
"Hey dad." I said into the phone. I put it on speaker.
"Hey kiddo. I just landed so I'll see you in hopefully 30 minutes. What's the name of the restaurant again?"
"I'll text it to you."
"Thanks. I'll see you in a bit. Love you."
"Love you, too." I ended the call, texted the name and address of the restaurant to my dad then threw the phone back into my clutch. I picked out a pleather jacket from the coat closet. I turned around to see Chris kneeling down and giving kisses to Deeohgee. "That dog is so obsessed with you. He cries and looks for you when you leave."
"Don't blame the dog for your crying." Mykie joked, poking my side. I laughed and poked her back.
"I'll see you later, buddy." He gave another kiss on his head. He stood up and held out his arms. "Are we ready, ladies?"
"Ready!" Mykie and I sang in unison. I gave kisses to Deeohgee before the three of us walked out of the apartment.
The driver parked the car in front of the restaurant. Mykie got out of the car first to make a quick check for any paparazzi. She gave us a thumbs up before running inside the building. Chris and I thanked the driver and got out of the car.
I scanned the parking lot as I balanced on the curb. Chris stood in front of me and checked his phone. I took a long hit from my new vape and blew the smoke above his head. I tapped my feet on the ground still nervously scanning the cars.
"Baby.." I only shifted my eyes to his. "...don't be nervous." I smiled then continued my search.
"How are you so calm?"
"I know my parents will love you."
"Oh, really? Why do you know that?"
"Because I have f—"
"Chris Evans!"
"Sarah Rose!" Paparazzi yelled at us. Chris held my hand firmly and pulled me into the restaurant.
"Always there to ruin the moment." Chris muttered under his breath as we watched the paparazzi take photos of us through the door. I nervously giggled at him. Mykie and Sherry popped up beside the hostess.
"Damn photogs." Sherry glared at them.
"Can you guys go watch for my dad? I told him I would be outside."
"Of course!" Mykie and Sherry said together.
"The party is on the roof. Go get a drink and relax." Mykie pointed to a small elevator. I thanked her and pulled her into a hug.
Chris and I got into the empty elevator. I waved at Mykie and Sherry while the doors closed. Chris and I instantly locked lips. He pushed his body against mine causing me to slam into the wall. Our tongues caressed slowly. His hands scratched at my waist as he kissed me deeper. The elevator started to slow down. I giggled, pushing him away. He squeezed my butt and kissed my forehead. I scratched at his beard and gave him one more peck on his lips. The elevator doors opened to a giant crowd of people that all hollered and cheered at our entrance.
We greeted and hugged the crowd as we made our way to the stand alone bar. Chris ordered me a rum and Coke while I was distracted by Tommy and Charlotte's new baby boy. Chris placed his hand on the small of my back and handed me my drink. I admired Chris' face lighting up at the sight of Tommy's kids.
I bent down to talk to their oldest boy. He gave me a hug and told me I looked pretty. I thanked him, hugging him again. Chris bent down beside me.
"My parents are here." He whispered to me. I raised my eyebrows and smiled. I took a big gulp of my drink and stood up. Chris' parents smiled at me. "Mom, Dad. This is my girlfriend, Sarah Rose." I shook his father's hand. Tommy's head whipped around at the word 'girlfriend'. Chris and I both laughed at Tommy. "Sarah. Meet my wonderful parents, Lisa and Robert." I held out my hand to shake his mom's but she pushed it away and embraced me.
"It's nice to meet you!" Lisa said as she held me. "I have heard so much about you!"
"It's so nice to meet you both!" Lisa released me from the hug to hold me in front of her by my arms.
"You are so lovely. It's no wonder my Chris is head over heels about you." She said softly, swinging my arms and smiling from ear to ear.
"Thank you." I dropped my head shyly. "The feeling is mutual. Your son is an amazing man." I smiled at the both of them. Robert thanked me and patted my arm. "He really helped me through so much and.." I turned my head to smile at him but he wasn't next to me. I searched the crowd swiftly then spotted him. "...and now he is talking to my dad." Chris' eyes met with mine from across the room. He smiled at me and said something to my dad. My dad's eyes met with mine, smiled and waved at me. They both walked over to us.
