Ethans POV

Leaving her in the hotel room walking away with my life. She's my world. Who would have thought 6 months ago I'd be in love and dreading my next
Tour. The military is my life or at least it was. Now that I've had a taste of what my life could be like I don't want to leave.

If I would turn around and she would ask me to stay I don't know if I could've left her. I'm so glad Blake and Sam are here to help her cope with my departure. Especially since I don't know when I'm coming back.

As i Arrive in California my mood is different. I'm more stern to my men and if my into can't cut it they aren't going. The information I've received for this mission is going to be difficult. I wish I could speak to Kayleigh about it, but I can't. Military protocol and all.

I haven't had much time to speak with Kayleigh over the weeks and I miss her. I miss her smile, or dirty jokes, her compassion for others, and her need for everything to be perfect. She's perfect.

I leave in 3 weeks and I haven't seen or heard her voice in the last two. Training has been extensive and after 14 hours I attend meetings then I go to my dorm and pass out. I've never had to prioritize anything before so I probably haven't been the best boyfriend.

Thankfully she is understanding of my job, but really I'm not really living at the moment. I'm sitting at my desk and the major comes banging on my door. Sgt. Pierre we have been searching for you. Well you found me. How can I help you sir? We got a call about 3 hours ago from a Sam Louisville saying it's was urgent. Any other information sir? He was yelling saying he has called all over looking for a Sgt Ethan Pierre and someone needs to help him locate you. Do you know a Sam. Pierre the only person we have heard about is Blake. Who's Sam. My girlfriends best friend. Any other information? That it was urgent and to call Betty H. Cameron woman's and Children's Hospital as soon as possible. Thank you sir.

Being in front of another officer I couldnt show my emotions. The moment he closed my door I was searching the hospital and calling.

Operator - thank you for calling Betty H. Cameron how may I direct your call?

Ethan - I'm looking for a Kayleigh Harper. I was told it was an emergency.

Operator - she is on floor 3 with labor and delivery. I'll transfer you.

Ethan - labor and delivery? Are you sure?

Operator - yes one moment sir.

As I'm on hold I'm booking flights back to NC. I have no idea what is going on or why Kayleigh is in labor and delivery. Only one reason; she's pregnant and something happened. Fuck. I haven't even spoken to her in two weeks and she's pregnant. If she is then she would be 9 maybe close to 10 weeks pregnant. And I'm about to find out what happened.

Operator - labor and delivery.

Ethan - I am looking for a Kayleigh Harper

Operator - are you family sir

Ethan - she's my girlfriend

Operator- I'm sorry sir, but only family can receive information on patients

Ethan - look. I am Sgt. Ethan Pierre in the United States Army. I am 3000 miles away about to leave overseas again. I need to know what is wrong with Kayleigh. Please. I'm begging you.

Operator - I'm sorry sir. The best I can do is deliver a message and have someone call you back

Ethan - just tell them I'll be arriving at the airport at 9pm for someone to pick me up. Thank you ma'am
