(Eight months later)

"Come on, Hermione!" We're going to be late!"

"I'm coming, I'm coming!" Hermione hurried down the stairs to the common room where Ginny was waiting impatiently.

"Okay, how do I look?" Hermione turned in a circle. She had put on a flowy red skirt, with a gold shimmery tank top and black strappy high heels. It may have been a bit much for the occasion, but she didn't care and it matched her robes perfectly.

Ginny rolled her eyes. "You look great, Mi'! Like always! Now, can we PLEASE go?!"

Hermione nodded. "Yes, let's go!" She followed Ginny out of the Portrait hole, before something dawned on her. "Wait! What about the boys?"

Ginny grabbed her arm, dragging her on. "They already headed down! Now, will you please hurry UP?!"

Both the girls ran down the stairs as fast as they could. Finally they came to the doors of the Great Hall, and walked in. Ginny turned to Hermione.

"Remember your speech?" Hermione nodded. "Okay, ready?"

NO! "Yes, I am." Ginny smiled and hugged her.

"Okay then, good luck!" Then she headed off to find Harry.

Hermione made her way over to the stage. She was nervous from head to toe. She had rehearsed her speech over and over again, countless times. But, now she was feeling like it still wasn't enough.

She got onto the stage, and was greeted by the Headmistress, Professor McGonagall.

"There you are, Miss Granger. Please take your set over there. I'll call your name when it's time." She turned away from Hermione and went back to final preparations.

Hermione made her way over to her place and sat down. She was trying not to think about her upcoming speech, so she decided to look over the crowd.

As she looked, she saw a lot of familiar faces. She saw Seamus Finnigan, and Neville Longbottom. There was Luna Lovegood, Dean Thomas, the Patil Twins. She saw faces of people she didn't know that well, but still recognized. Like, Pansy Parkinson, Lavender Brown and Cho Chang. Then she started looking for people she did know and loved. She found Harry and Ginny in the crowd, they were hugging and holding hands. She saw Ron with them, talking and laughing. Looking around more, she saw Mysteria and Navarre, who she had gotten to know a lot over the past few months and had found them both to be VERY interesting. But, she still couldn't find that one person. The one she wanted to see the most.

Ah, there he is, she thought, as her eyes fell on the pale blond hair. Draco Malfoy!

It had been eight months since they had gotten together and they were still going strong. They loved each other and never missed a chance to show just how much. Feeling her eyes on him, he turned to her, smiled and waved. He mouthed "I love you!" at her before turning back to his friends.

Man, I'm lucky! She thought, happily. Draco treated her so respectively. He didn't try to make her do anything she didn't want to do, he was patient, saying that it's up to her when it's time for certain things. He told everybody about their relationship and didn't care what they said about it. He held her hand, kissed her, hugged her and cuddled with her in public without caring for anyone else's opinion. He was there for her, supported her, protected her, defended her. All in all, he was the best she could ever ask for!

So lost in her happy thoughts, she hadn't noticed that everybody was taking their seats and McGonagall was standing at the podium trying to get everyone calm and quiet.

"Silence, everyone! Please, take your seats. Thank you." She waited to make sure that all were silent and listening before continuing on.

"I hope all of you have had a wonderful seven years here at Hogwarts. I hope when you all leave here today, that you will remember everything of this Historic school, keep it in your hearts and that you will never forget all that has happened here. Good or bad." Hermione didn't know if it was just her, but she could have sworn that McGonagall's eyes were watering. "I have enjoyed teaching every one of you and helping you make your way in this world of magic." She paused for a second before speaking once again. "I now give you, your Head Girl and Valedictorian of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, Miss Hermione Granger." Everyone applauded as Hermione took the podium.
