It had been two months since Bucky and Loki had sparked a bit of a relationship. If you asked either one how it happened, they'd most likely say, "Unexpectedly." Neither of them were looking for love but yet they found it in each other. Not one of the Avengers opposed it. They figured if something kept Loki distracted from trying to rule a whole planet or realm, it was a good thing.
Bucky returned home from working at SHIELD all day and found Loki waiting for him on the porch.
"Hey, trickster." Bucky said with a smile. He stepped towards the slightly taller man.
"Welcome home, Barnes." Loki said smoothly. The corner of his lips tilted upward.
Bucky rolled his eyes and went to step on past him. Loki had caught his metal wrist and he stopped, "What?" Bucky asked.
"Forgetting something, soldier?" Loki asked with a smirk as he pulled Bucky back to him.
Bucky sighed, "You're ridiculous." He mumbled quietly, looking at him. Their lips met and Bucky let his hands rest at the mischief god's sides. Loki kissed him back, a hand on his cheek. He tilted his chin downwards and rested his forehead against Bucky's.
"I missed you." Loki said in a hushed tone.
"I missed you, too." Bucky replied. He smiled, "What's for dinner?"
"I made that Russian dish you told me about. Hopefully it tastes right..." Loki said with a laugh. "I followed your instructions."
Bucky grinned, "I'm sure you made it just fine." He let his hand find the door and led the way into the house.
Bucky smiled at the sight. He remembered when it was just him living here. The place was a wreck until Fury assigned Bucky to keep an eye on Loki. That was when things got interesting. Especially since Loki had to stay with Bucky. Sure, they weren't fast friends, but after they both pranked Steve and Tony into going on a 'blind date' together, they became close. Loki learned to not be so stuck up from Bucky, and Bucky taught Loki how to live on Midgard. He even let Loki make his homey touches on his house and needless to say they actually became good housemates. They would hang around and discuss things about the past. Bucky would talk about his job at HQ. Loki would mention how he missed Asgard. They learned things off of each other.
Loki walked into the kitchen, "So, HYDRA fed you this stuff?"
Bucky nodded, "My favorite thing to eat while I was stationed in Russia." He headed towards the kitchen, "Take a seat. I'll get your plate."
Loki blinked before sighing, "Fine..." He smiled at Bucky slightly before brushing past him to grab drinks for the both of them.
Bucky chuckled and put some of the salad on two plates, "Get bored without me?" He sat the plates down on the table.
"A bit." Loki admitted as he sat the glasses of water down. He took his seat and smiled at Bucky.
"Hopefully it's not too bad without me. Maybe you should find yourself a job." Bucky suggested as he seated himself and began to eat.
Loki shrugged, "I suppose I could. Maybe then SHIELD would trust me a bit more." He said.
"Maybe so." Bucky nodded and offered a smile. He looked down at the table, "You know how I taught you how to make this?"
Loki nodded, "Of course." He said and took a sip of water.
"There's another Russian thing I would like to teach you." Bucky said. He chuckled before saying something in his foreign tongue. He knew the trickster wouldn't understand.
"What?" Loki asked, a bit confused.
Bucky sighed, "Ya tebya lyublyu. It's a Russian phrase. Three words."
Loki furrowed his brows, "That sounded like more than three words."
Bucky laughed, "I'll explain. 'Ya' means 'I'." He said as he finished eating.
Loki shook his head, "I don't know?" He said as if he was guessing.
"Funny." Bucky laughed. He stood up and grabbed their plates and forks. He put them in the dishwasher and sat back down.
"It's frustrating because I have no idea what you just said to me." Loki rolled his eyes. He glared slightly, "Can I have another hint?"
Bucky thought for a second. He laughed, "Of course." He let his metal hand find Loki's. He held onto it and grinned, "It's something you should already know."
"Calling me dull, Barnes?" Loki said as if he was offended.
"Not at all. Come on, think..." Bucky said.
Loki stared at their hands, "Well, if whatever you said started with 'I', then I have an idea of what it could mean."
"And that is?" Bucky asked, curiously.
"I love you?" Loki tilted his head.
"I love you, too, but don't sound so unsure of it." Bucky said with a chuckle.
"You think I'm the ridiculous one?" Loki asked, shaking his head. He blinked, "So, it does mean 'I love you', right?"
Bucky nodded. He smiled slightly.
"Ugh... Sometimes you disgust me." Loki rolled his eyes at him.
"More like fascinate you." Bucky said, "That's what you told me."
The trickster laughed, "You do both. At once."
Bucky grinned as if he was proud of himself, "Makes me a special human, then."
"You've always been special to me." Loki nodded his head.
Bucky awed and chuckled. He squeezed Loki's hand before standing up, "I think I'm going to call it a night. You tired?"
"Yeah. Tired of your flirtatious midgardian antics." Loki joked. He stood up and looked at Bucky.
"Liar." Bucky said, stepping closer to him.
"Lying is what I do best, but I could never lie to you." Loki laughed.
"Good." Bucky said before kissing the trickster. They stayed in each other's embrace for a few minutes before heading to bed.
The pair laid side-by-side. Loki looked over at Bucky and chuckled, "Barnes, can I tell you something?"
"Of course." Bucky said, fighting back a yawn. "What is it?"
"Ya tebya lyublyu." Loki said with a smile.
Bucky rolled his eyes, "You're a fast learner... Ya tozhe tebya lyublyu."
"Good." Loki said as he turned on his side away from Bucky to get comfy. "Night, Bucky."
Bucky sighed and snuggled up against Loki. He put his metal arm around the trickster and grinned, "Goodnight, Loki."
