Bucky woke up the next morning to find Loki had already gotten up. He smiled and sat up on his bed. He could smell pancakes and yawned. He got ready to head out the bedroom door when he heard his phone go off. It was Steve.
"Hey, Buck. I know this is a bit sudden, but we need you at HQ to train some recruits." Steve had texted.
Bucky read through it and groaned. He sent back an, "Okay, Cap. But geesh, can't a guy eat breakfast with his boyfriend? Haha, I'm kidding. I'll be there soon." He changed into his SHIELD clothes and headed downstairs.
Loki glanced towards Bucky before he scowled at the sight, "Leaving?"
Bucky sighed, "Afraid so. Steve texted." He said as he walked towards Loki. "Have to go train some recruits."
"Damn." Loki breathed out. He looked at Bucky over his shoulder, "Take it easy on those kids..."
"I will." Bucky grinned and put his arms around Loki.
Loki mumbled, "Good." Bucky felt him settle back into his arms.
Bucky put his forehead on one of Loki's shoulders. When he looked back up he found Loki's face just inches from his. He slowly leaned himself forward and met the trickster's lips. He smiled when he felt Loki kiss him back. It was pathetic how he still got all nervous like the first time whenever they kissed. He'd get this bunchy feeling in his stomach and then the second they kissed it just disappeared and electricity took its place. He broke away and whispered, "I love you..."
"I love you, too, Barnes." Loki laughed and slightly elbowed him, "You go have fun with the newbies."
Bucky nodded and kissed Loki's cheek before heading for the door, "I'll see you tonight."
Loki smiled, "I'll keep you to that." He said as he got himself breakfast.
That was the last thing Bucky saw as he left the house. He got in his car and headed to HQ.
Steve met him outside. He smiled, "Sorry to ruin your breakfast date with Loki."
Bucky shook his head, "That's alright."
"So, here's the situation. You have a new recruit, Adrian. He's a bit on the younger side, but he was very persistent." Steve explained. He looked towards the doors, "He's right inside there sitting on the bench."
Bucky nodded, "Thanks, Steve." He headed into the building and smiled when he saw a young boy sitting just where Steve said he would be. He looked as if he was 19 at the least. SHIELD usually aimed for older applicants...
"Mr. Barnes?" Adrian asked and rose to his feet.
"Please, just call me Bucky." Bucky smiled, "Welcome to SHIELD."
"Thanks." Adrian grinned. "So, what's first?"
Bucky looked around, "Ever shoot a gun before?"
Adrian nodded, "Yeah."
Bucky smiled, slightly impressed, "We should start with that and go from there."

After training Adrian, Bucky walked out of HQ with Steve. They both drove themselves to a restaurant and walked inside.
"So, how are things?" Steve asked Bucky as they found a table. He leaned back in his chair.
"What things?" Bucky raised an eyebrow.
Steve shrugged, "With Loki, I mean..."
Bucky frowned at him. Steve had always been protective of him, and not in the good way either. He told Loki several times that if Bucky got hurt, Steve was going to kill him. Then there was this whole 'taking away Steve's best friend' argument. Truth be told, it put Bucky and Steve in an awkward position. They weren't as close as they were seventy years ago.
