It was as sunny as ever in Central City that morning, which was a warm comparison to the rain Yue left behind in Gotham.

The West's house was one short zeta-teleport away from the city Yue called home – and a longer motorcycle ride from the disguised phone booth known as Central City's most used form of zeta teleportation – but her visits had become commonplace during her time knowing Wally.

Gotham was rough.

Everyone knew that.

Yue was only sixteen and had already seen enough darkness to last her a lifetime; yet, somehow the missions she would accompany Batman on, and the things she had watched Gotham criminals do or would try to do to innocent citizens easily took the cake.

So, whenever things got too hard for either of them, Wally would come speeding over from Central City or Yue would teleport in from Gotham. It was an unspoken tradition between the two, and typically the only times they would meet up without Dick accompanying them.

Wally had called her early that morning, earlier than Yue was used to waking up, claiming he had something new to show her. When she arrived in the sunny city, she realised he had lied to get her there. He was only bored, and Dick was too busy in the Batcave to come himself.

She had decided it was too late to turn back over half an hour ago. She had already travelled far enough. Going back would be more-so a waste of time.

The two teens sit on the couch in the living room with Yue's legs thrown over Wally's lap as the freckled-face boy flicks through the TV channels at a pace faster than Yue's eyes could pick up.

"So many channels and still nothing to watch," he sighs boredly, leaning back in his seat and tossing the remote over to Yue.

She catches the remote with ease, rolling her eyes at his comment. "Say that any louder and your mum's gonna make us help in her garden."

"Even that is better than this."

Fighting the urge to kick his thigh, she directs her attention to the TV. She absentmindedly scrolls through the different channels, until her gaze begins to drift back to Wally.

From a distance, the freckles on his face were barely noticeable. He claimed it was a good thing, but Yue had to disagree. Up close like this was when she adored them the most.

It was something so... so him.

She couldn't imagine seeing Wally, or his bright smile, or his shining emerald eyes, without also seeing the freckles that dotted his cheeks like stars across a night sky.

His hand comes down on her leg, shaking it slightly on his lap and effectively breaking her out of her thoughts. She blinked her eyes a few times and realised that somewhere while admiring him, he turned to look back at her.
