“Father,” I thought bitterly.
As they came closer, I felt my strength coming back.
“What are you doing here?” I asked my Father trying to stay calm.
“That’s not a very pleasant way to greet your old man, now is it?”he said slowly as if he was talking to a five year old. “I came here to fetch my daughter so she could take over the throne as soon as possible.”
“There’s no way I’m going back to that prison,” I said as I walked towards where Jhirgo’s car is. When I was about to open the door, I heard growling. I turned around and saw Jhirgo and the others being held by the knights.
“If you ever want to see your friends again, come to the kingdom, take over the throne, and you get your friends back safe and sound.” he said looking at me in the eye. “If not, I can guarantee you that you won’t get them back in one piece and you can say bye to this world, you only have a week.”
I stood there frozen watching them vanish into thin air bringing along my best friends with them.
4 days later..
It’s been four days since I last saw them, I’ve been walking around California thinking about the things my father told me. I tried making a plan of getting them all out safely but nothing could possibly work, the only thing that I could do is to do what my father asked me to do.
Looks like I’ll have to stay there for eternity, for the sake of my friends. I need to do what needs to be done before anyone else gets hurt.
“I vocare illa porta tenebrarum,” (Translation: I summon the gate of darkness.) I whispered as the left side of my hair turned gray and started to float. Seconds later, the gate of the kingdom of darkness appears in front of me.
I stepped through it feeling the familiar tingling sensation that I felt when I escaped. I appeared in front of the castle, my old home bringing all the memories back. It was a huge victorian castle, when I say huge, I meant really huge. About five times bigger than the Prague castle which is actually the largest castle on Earth.
Now that my barrier disappeared because of the last encounter with my father, my powers slowly came back to me.
Too lazy to actually walk through the door, I used my teleportation to go to the throne room. As expected, my father is sitting on a magnificent black chair with gold swirls and symbols. On his right is a crown, it’s black with golden and white elegant swirls around it.
“Oh, so you’ve come my dear,” my father said looking up from the book he’s reading.
He looks about 30 years old but he’s actually 5,000 years old. He’s wearing a white t-shirt with white pants that makes everyone who doesn’t know him think twice if he is actually the king of darkness.
“Where are my friends?”
“In the cells,” he answered, “but you have to complete the transformation first before I give them to you.”
Mortals can’t last a night in my world. Desperate to get my friends out of here, I walked towards the crown. I take it in my hands and examined it. The golden swirls suddenly started glowing and as if I was being controlled, my hands placed the crown on my head.
“Finally!” a voice said coming out of my mouth then suddenly, I’m pushed back on my mind losing total control of my body.
My hair is turning white, and my nails are turning into razor sharp claws.
“No, no, no ,no.. This can’t be happening..” I thought hopelessly.
“Oh but it is, Hue,” it chuckled, “there’s nothing you can do to stop me.”
It started throwing fireballs everywhere, destroying and killing everyone around it.
“Hue! What in the world are you doing?!” my father asked who is still sitting at the throne.
It turned around and faced my father with a wicked smile.*
