chpt.37 Family Reunion pt.2

August

"Babe we here" I tap Ashanti on her shoulder as she was slowly waking up.

I grab our luggage and handed to the man that was going to take us to the hotel. I pick up both of the twins and place them in the car since they was still sleep.

Ashanti and I got in the back and was headed to the hotel so we could get settle in.

"Daddy can we go swimming pretty please" Amyia ask as she climb into my lap.

"Maybe later, we about to get ready so you can meet the rest of your family on your momma side" I tell her.

"Are you nervous"? Ashanti ask coming out the bathroom.

"Nervous for what"?

"I don't know just asking, we just gonna go and get this over with so we can go back home".

"I'm quite sure everything is gonna be fine, and far as your parents I'm not worrying about them".

Her parents might not like me which is fine with me, I'm only here for Ashanti and my kids.

Ashanti

Well this is it, we made it to my grandmother house since her house is bigger. I held onto August hand as he rub his thumb across my hand.

I got out the car and was greeted by my favorite aunt. "My babies made it, I'm so happy to see y'all" she hug the twins then me and August.

"Is your sister here"? I was referring to my mom.

"Yeah she's here and I don't know why she invited Ronnie but he's here as well".

My whole body was stiff, why would she even invite him. "She really trying to cause trouble".

"Don't worry Shanti, you know your grandmother  don't play that, gone ahead and see the rest of your family".

"See I knew she was going to do something slick" I say to August while walking towards my cousins.

"Don't worry ma I'm here with you".

"Ashanti, hey my favorite cousin" Maria said as she hug me.

"Hey Maria how are you"?

"I'm fine" I say, Maria is my first cousin and she think she's better than me.

"I see you here with August Alsina, he must be your guest or something".

"Actually he's my boyfriend so excuse me I gotta go see the rest of my family" I grab August hand and we went to go see my grandmother.

"You think you slick" August smirk at me.

"I know Maria she knew who you was so I don't know why she fronting, but I don't trust her".

During the rest of the day I was enjoying my family while Ronnie kept looking towards my way, I just ignore him cause I really didn't have time for his games.

"So Ashanti" my grandmother call me as I look in her direction.

"Yes ma'am".

"You and August are a cute couple, and made some beautiful girls. When is the wedding".

Ronnie start choking on his drink and my mom side eye me.

I was about to speak when August spoke up. "Real soon Ms. Sanchez" August said.

"Boy call me grandma, you family now. Ashanti my baby keep him cause he's a good person".

"Yeah right" my mom mumble.

I think I had enough of hearing about Ashanti marrying to that thug she brought with her.

"It was nice being with all of you but I have to get going, Ms. Sanchez the food was great".

"Mhmm yeah bye" she wave her hand at me.

I look at Ashanti once more and left from the table with Joseph behind me.

"Why you leaving so soon"?

"I don't belong in there and you know it, none of your folks like me. You only invited me here just to humiliate your daughter, well let me tell you something she don't love me or like me. I had to learn the hard way and now I realized why still try to be with someone that don't want to be with you, stay out of your child business and leave me alone".

I got in my car leaving her there in her thoughts, I still got love for Ashanti but its not like how it use to be. I done move on to somebody else so I'm happy.

Maria

While everyone was talking amongst themselves I was ready to go, Ashanti thinks she's better than me just because she's with a celebrity.

August got up from the dinner table to take a phone call, this was my chance to make my move. "Excuse me you all but I have to step out for a minute" I got up from the table and made my way into the living until I heard August voice upstairs.

I walk up the stairs and spotted him in one of the guest rooms. "Business calling"? I ask him walking in the room.

"Yeah something like that" he went to walk pass me until I stop him.

"Why such in a hurry, I've noticed every since you got here you been looking at me all day" I step closer to him.

"It ain't even like that but I need to be getting back to Ashanti before she thinks something".

"She doesn't have to know" I push him towards the bed and got on top of him placing my lips to his.

Ashanti

I was starting to feel something was wrong, August hasn't came back yet.

I excuse myself from the table and went to go find August, As I was walking up the stairs I heard Maria voice in one of the rooms. I look in the room to see her on top of August.

"The hell is going on in here" I yell causing her to jump off of August.

"Ashanti baby I can explain look she came onto me" August was trying to explain but I wasn't hearing him. I went after Maria and began to fight knocking stuff down in the room until my uncle's and aunt's was coming in the room trying to break us up.

"What's going on in here"? Aunt Unique ask holding me while my other cousin was holding Maria.

"That bitch right there was up in here kissing on August, I swear she always think she's better than me".

"No you think you better than me cause you a princess and you dating a celebrity, and yeah I kiss your man and he was enjoying it until you barge in".

I was sick of hearing her mouth I got out of Unique grip and start attacking Maria again.

"Ashanti stop let it go she's not worth it" Unique said grabbing me taking me out the room.

After calming myself down I was ready to go, I got the twins and headed back to the hotel. I was still kinda piss at August even though it wasn't his fault, just of right now I didn't want to talk at the moment.
