Norman's POV

I haven't been having high hopes ever since Emma brought up the whole proposing thing yesterday. I just know my family will disown me. Ray told me a few days ago about this person named Winnie. He said I should talk to them and that their very understanding....So...I'll give it a try.

I punched in the number Ray gave to me and called Winnie.

It took a few beeps but then they answered

"Hello?! Who is this?? How did you get my number?!" Winnie said in a mad tone

"Oh hello! Please don't be scared! My name is Normán! Ray told me about you." I say

"Huh...? Wait...Ohhhhh!!! I remember you!! Yeahh!! How've you been?" Winnie said laughing

"Haha I'm good. How about you yourself?"

"I'm doing great! Is there anything I can help you?"

"Yes! I need some help."

"Ask away~!!"

"So...Its about me...I plan to... Propose to Ray and-"

"Ray?!! Like you mean 'MY RAY'?"

"Yes."

"Eeeeekk!! Omg!! You should do it!!!!" Winnie said screaming happily

I laugh a little "Aww yeah I plan to but I'm worried because of my family. I know they're going to disown me. They're very strict when it comes to gay stuff and it's going to trigger them so bad. I don't know what to do....At times...I feel like crying..."

"Awww don't cry. There's no need too. I get what you mean. I'm pretty sure all of us have been there. It's not really easy. For me...When I came out as non-binary and polysexual to my mom and dad...They didn't take it well at all."

"Really?"

"Yep. My mom didn't like the fact that I didn't have a gender and my dad didn't like that face that I would date multiple people. It's been a real challenge for me...I've had some real bad nightmares as well."

"Me too! I'm glad I'm not alone."

"You're never alone! And I overcame them! It just took a lot of time and it's a really big deal but at the end...I have to tell you...If your family doesn't accept you...It hurts but just know that there's a whole community out here that accepts you and we'll be right by your side from the beginning to the end. I promise!" Winnie said

My eyes began to water when they said that.

"Wait- No no nooo..! I didn't mean to make you cry- No please don't cry...!" Winnie said with a worried tone

"No i-it's okay! I just felt so much in my heart. Thank you for giving me advice. I really needed the help. I'll call you again if I need help!" I say wiping away tears

"Of of course! I'm happy to help! And if you need me... yes, make sure to call me! Just make sure to drink plenty of water and don't worry yourself! Everything is gonna be okay! See you later!"

"See you!" I say and hang up

They seemed nice and I'll make sure to call them again!

My confidence was getting to me... but I still needed some adjustments and even though some might not be okay with me being with the same gender...It won't stop me for being happy! Everyone deserves to be happy and loved!
