Chapter 14

I wake up automatically still hearing my own voice echoing the room. I breathe heavily with tears rolling down my cheeks. I quickly look around me and I understand I'm still on JJ's couch. 

"Tori, hey, Tori, look at me..." JJ whispers worriedly holding my head in her soft hands. "Everything is fine, I'm here, calm down."

"I..." I breathe loudly. "I.. yeah, all good, everything's fine. I'm fine." I try to convince myself.

"What happened?" JJ wonders.

"Nothing." I smile weakly to the blonde girl taking her hand on mine. "I'm fine, it's just a bad dream. Just a bad dream."

"Are you sure?" She is worried and I can totally feel that.

"Positive." I lay back down and she hugs me gently.

"You can talk to me if you want to." JJ softly caresses my shoulder.

"Yeah..." I say looking at the ceiling mindlessly. "Go back to sleep, love." I kiss her temple softly.

            After some minutes, I finally manage to fall asleep again wishing this dream won't come back before the end of the night.

            At 6 am, I can't sleep anymore so I get up making sure JJ keeps on sleeping peacefully. I cover her up with a blanket and I go to the kitchen. I take a huge glass of water and go to the shower quickly. Once I'm done, I cook breakfast for the entire family.

"I should let you stay here more often." JJ's voice makes me turn around.

"Maybe you should." I walk to her, and she puts her arms around my neck. "Did you sleep well?"

"Well, for a night on a couch it wasn't that bad." She chuckles. "What about you? Are you okay?"

"I'm fine, JJ, don't worry about that." I smile back.

"You really don't want to talk about it, do you?" She frowns.

"There is nothing to talk about, I assure you." I kiss her forehead and lead her to the table.

            She sits and looks at her phone.

"Penelope needs me at the office, she says it's an emergency." JJ narrows her eyes.

"I can take the boys to school if you need me to. I've got my final test at 11." I suggest.

"You'll do that?" She happily bites on her French toast, and I nod. "You're the best. Michael starts at 8 am, Henry at 8.30 am, it usually gives you time to go from one school to another. Will is picking them up tonight so make sure they have everything."

"Will do, boss." I laugh and she glares at me. "What?"

"I hate it when you call me boss." She states.

"Won't do it again." I chuckle. "I'm going to wake up the boys."

"Thank you." She smiles.

            I take care of the boys while JJ is getting ready. Once she is ready, she comes to the kitchen and kisses my cheek wishing me good luck for my final test.

"Are you still going to school, Tori?" Michael asks.

"No, buddy." I chuckle. "This test is just to make sure I'm good enough to work with your mom and her team."

"I am sure you're going to nail it." Henry smiles while eating his cereals.

"Fingers crossed." I wink at him.

            We get ready and I drive the boys to their school. On the road, we listen to some music, and I promise Henry I'll teach him how to play the guitar. Once we drop off Michael, I can feel Henry looking at me weirdly.
