I was extremely tired when I finished writing this so I'm sorry I didn't grammar or spell check it and that it's so trippy. I have a strange mind and my mind missed trippy. It didn't turn out as bad as I thought It would though... Hope you like Koby's daydream.

The night was quiet after Lila fell asleep. I laid in bed, thinking about anything and everything. My meds were taking way too long to kick in. I thought about asking for a new prescription. I glanced over at Lila. At least I'd be awake if she had anymore nightmares. I thought about Erick. Uge. I thought about school, dull and boring. I thought about Scarlet. I hadn't spent much time with her here lately.

My mind wondered to Lila again. She was always a main subject of my mind. Our kiss was the guest of honour this time. It's amazing how much a relationship can change in one move and yet how comfortable I was with the change. It wasn't even all that different. I thought about the question Alice asked Lila at the mall when she thought I was out of hearing distance (of course I heard her, I even hid to watch Lila's reaction). Lila responded the same way I would have.

I sighed and turned over so I was facing Lila. Her blonde hair fell over her face. Her mouth was barely ajar with a few strands stuck to her lip. I smiled and moved it out of the way. Very, very gently, I pressed my lips to her's for a brief second. I silently wished her awake. Tangling my hand in her hair, I wrapped my arm under and around her waist to pull her closer. She sighed in her sleep and I put my forehead against her's. I stayed like that for a while.

After an hour, I untangled myself from her and got out of bed. What to do, what to do? Kitchen? Boring. Living room? Boring. Basement? Boring. I sighed. Eventually, I changed into my jeans and chose to go outside. Uge, still boring. I guess it was better than inside the quiet house. Here, the woods were full of life. Insects chipped quietly as background noise and I could hear little animals scurry across the brush.

I lay out under the stars for a long moment that I can't remember. I tried counting the chirping of the insects, but I lost count. I went to the end of the trees where they met our yard. It reminded me that I needed to shift again before long. I tried to remember the last time Lila had shifted. It had been a while too. It wasn't healthy to not shift for a certain amount of time. Mom and Dad both learned that the hard way.

I touched the tree closest to me and whispered something that I cannot remember. My meds were making my head foggy, but not foggy enough apparently. I walked beyond the tree to touch the next one. The breeze picked up just enough so the tree would whisper back to me. I closed my eyes, my fingertips just barely grazing the tree. It whispered of dreams and songs from far away.

My mind flung into a dream world. I laughed quietly but hysterically. I let the night wind rustle my hair and I looked up at the moon. Lifting my arms out to my side, I felt like the mythical creature I was. I could imagine my black hair shining in the moonlight and my yellow eyes glowing like two vibrant lights off in the distance.

Eventually, my daydream was interrupted when I heard the backdoor close behind me. I turned and walked out from behind the trees. Lila stood there, a creature of light and summer, staring at me with a question written on her face. My mind kept screaming, "She doesn't belong! It's too dark for the light to live! Save her! Get her away and safe!" I shook my head and brought my mind back to reality.

I walked toward the beautiful light that was this girl and took her hand. She really did look foreign in the moonlight. Everything about her screamed radiant gold. She practically glowed in the dim light.

Then there was me who looked like I was born in darkness. Every feature was to hide and stalk my prey. My eyes were the only give away, but they wouldn't see them until the end. I shivered with the thought of myself that way.

I touched Lila's cheek with the tips of my figures. Ever so gently, I leaned in and traced my invisible tracks with my nose. I heard her sigh a shakey breath. I pulled away just enough to be able to see that her eyes were closed and Her expression was tortured. I moved my lips so the were lingering on the corner of her mouth, not even a kiss.

I swear I could hear Lila's heart stop and restart. I slid my lips to hover over her's and I heard her breath catch. I smiled before pressing them to her's. I pulled back before she had the chance to kiss me back.

"Let's go inside," I whispered, barely audible. I pulled my face away from her's and she opened her eyes. She nodded and we walked back to bed, my mind already turning the night into a blur.
