The Artist

Sadness looks good on me,
so I wear it like a dress.
The teardrops are my jewellry
and my necklace is distress.

Tragedy's the greatest thing
an artist could achieve;
so I wear it like a diamond ring—
my heart is on my sleeve.

But I admit that there are times
when I want to tear my dress,
and soak my precious stones in wine-
let them be less and less.
