PARKER's POV
"Excuse me?" Cole's facial expression quickly changed from relaxed to shocked.
"I've seen your school records. They say you've changed schools like a gazillion times." I told him.
He sat up quickly and looked down at me. "I...well I don't know. My parents moved us around a lot." He cleared his throat.
I starred at him unimpressed with his answer. "I really don't know. Honest!" He defended himself. "They moved jobs a lot."
"That's not weird to you?" I asked with concern.
He shrugged his shoulders. "I guess I got used to it," he began. "We moved to the states when I was around five years old. First in California, then Texas, Colorado, I think Virginia was in there at one point, and then New York."
"Something tells me your abusive asshole of a father didn't coincidentally have a dream of living in every state." I scoffed.
"What? You think my parents are hiding something?"
"More like running from something." I pointed out.
He let out a deep sigh and then laid back down next to me.
"I don't care. They aren't apart of my life anymore." He sighed.
"You're not at all curious to know why they dragged you all over the country your entire life?" I asked sitting up a little.
His face was paler than usual and he squeezed his eyes shut. "I- can we just drop it?" He asked me.
I lightly rolled my eyes.
"Please?" He begged.
"Fine." I agreed with a sigh.
I laid back down next him only this time resting my head on his chest.
My mind couldn't help but continue to think about it. I know I'm probably paranoid- but given everything I've been through I think I'm allowed to be paranoid.
AERO's POV
"But why? He's so cute and funny!" Lila whined at me. She sat on my bed and leaned up against the wall.
"I hate to say it like this but...Aurelie has dibs." I said slowly.
Lila crossed her arms and rolled her eyes.
"Why are all the good guys spoken for?" She continued.
"I'm sure the right guy for you is right around the corner." I said trying to comfort her. It didn't work.
"First, the love of my life comes out as gay. Second, my most recent boo gets murdered by your father and our former roommate." She complained.
"Wait, what do you mean former roommate?" I asked freezing in place.
Her eyes widen as she asked, "Oh did I not tell you? Emilie works for your father. That's why she tried to kill me."
"No, you did not mention that!" I yelled at her.
Jesus Christ, my father really tried to get to me, I have to give him credit for that.
I felt a chill run down my back as my father entered my mind.
I shook it off as I tried to change the subject.
"I love hanging out with you, but I have a lot of work to do." I tried hinting at her to leave.
"Alright say no more," she said getting off the bed.
"I'll keep you updated on if I find an acceptable guy or not." She smirked as she left my dorm room.
