BEN's POV
"Nope. No way." I told her.
"What? Why not?" She whined.
Sarah-J still insisted on trying to find me a new girlfriend.
"She's cute! Oh wait, never mind she's wearing denim on denim." She sighed.
I tapped my fingers on the table and looked across at her.
"Now that I know all the dirty deets about you and Nor- I mean Aero, we definitely need to fix you up. It's just sad, really. You look like you've been abandoned by your mom at the zoo." She said absolutely not making me feel better.
"Thanks," I said sarcastically and annoyed.
"I'm sorry, I don't mean to be harsh." She apologized almost sounding a little sincere.
"What about her?" She pointed at the entrance of the coffee shop.
"She has a mustache." I pointed out.
"Fine I'll give you that." She said and then broke out into laughter making me crack a smile.
"Oh my god don't stop now but I think you're actually smiling!" She said pointing at me.
I rolled my eyes at her.
"Don't you have better things you can be doing with your time than this?" I asked her curiously.
She glanced down at her hands which were folded on the table.
"This isn't about me." she said.
I guess I just don't understand why a beautiful, older college chick is spending her Sunday afternoon with me, Benjamin Adams.
"I suppose its about me then." I responded.
She smiled a little and nodded her head.
"Of course. This is the only way to get my community service hours fulfilled."
I looked at her blankly until she burst out laughing.
"Jesus- it was a joke," she continued to laugh. "We really need to loosen you up."
Her smile immediately made me feel happier inside whether I wanted to be or not.
I'd never met anyone quite like her before. Nice yet somewhat hot-headed.
My phone buzzed from inside my pocket so I reached down to grab it and check it.
I pulled it out to see a text from Parker, which was the last thing I expected to see.
P: Yo Benny! I need ur help with something.
He has never called me Benny before. This should be interesting.

"You want me to what?" I asked confused.
I couldn't tell if he was joking or not. At this point I shouldn't put anything past him.
"Don't make a big deal out of it, ok? I just need you to use one of your dad contacts to look into Cole's family." He said in a quiet, low tone.
"What even makes you think my father knew a PI?" I asked.
If I had told myself four years ago that Parker Carlton would be standing in my dorm room asking me to check up on his boyfriend, I probably would have had a stroke.
He looked guilty as he said, "I may have gone through some of his stuff..."
"Parker!" I yelled at him.
