Containment breach

Summary: I've basically just been playing with the idea of one of my ocs, Artemis, being an scp.

Artemis had been speaking with a foundation researcher when it happened. Lights blared red, sirens going off, and a voice over the loud speaker called out a containment breach of several keter class anomalies. Before either of them could react, the door to Artemis' cell had locked.

The scp had huffed, relaxing into his bed while the researcher frantically tried to pry open the door. She called out several times, trying to get someone to get her out. This greatly irritated the scp in the room, black eyes narrowing at her. He growled loudly before speaking. "Shut up! No one's coming to get you, okay? If anything, you might just attract the attention of an scp."

The researcher turned to him, freezing in place. She sighed and walked over to one of the walls, sliding down into a sitting position. The scp rolled his eyes before staring up at the ceiling. He knew he could break them out, knew he could get one of his friends to break him out. But he didn't want to, so for now the two would stay in the cell.

The researcher would occasionally glance at the scp, quiet and a bit afraid. She knew he didn't tend to hurt humans, just spook them. Still, he was an scp so she wouldn't take any risks. Even so, she wondered if he could get her out of the cell. She needed to find out what was happening.

An hour later the gunshots stopped. The site was still in lockdown, of course, as obvious by the loud speaker occasionally repeating the earlier message about the containment breach. It was around this point the researcher finally gave in to asking Artemis.

"E-excuse me?" She asked and a flicked glance let her know the scp was listening. "Do you...think you can get us out of here?" The scp rose a hand to the ceiling, causing her to visibly flinch. The hand then flopped back down, hanging off the side of the bed.

"Do you really want to?" Artemis asked. In one swift move, he was now sitting up, body hunched over, and arms on his legs. He watched the researcher for a moment before continuing. "Unlike me, you can die permanently. If you go out there, I can only protect you so well."

The researcher found that Artemis' black eyes looked even more terrifying than usual. They were soulless, indicating he'd seen a lot of things by this point. She swallowed nervously before standing. "Yeah. I need to get to a terminal and figure out what anomalies have escaped. If I can, it'll help the mobile task forces on their way."

The scp sighed and stood, stretching. He'd hoped the researcher would back down, grow scared of the horrors outside. But she didn't. Stubborn. "Fine. At least tell me your name. You never mentioned it when you arrived." He spoke as he walked over to the door.

"Oh! Sorry about that. My name's Dr. Ather." She replied, a bit sheepish she'd forgotten such a thing. She then watched as Artemis placed his hand on door, watching as a circuit pattern spread across the door. She heard a click and the other removed his hand.

"There. We need to go, now. Being out of my cell right now is a dangerous thing. I'm going to pretend like you're a hostage, okay? If you spot an scp, immediately start acting like you're trying to get away. I'll cue in and act intimidating. The same goes vice verse if I spot an scp." Artemis spoke, grabbing the researcher's upper arm in a loose hold.

Dr. Ather nodded and the two exited the cell. They began to walk, cautious and quiet. Neither spoke, not wanting to draw unnecessary attention to themselves. Occasionally, they'd hear a distance scream or gunshots that had them freeze in their spot. They'd wait a few moments before continuing to walk.

The researcher was the one leading the way for the most part, knowing where a terminal was. If she could just get to it, maybe she could help prepare the incoming mobile task forces of the scps that had escaped containment. Maybe then they'd have the upper hand. Of course, that was only a hope and only time would tell if she could really help.

They spent almost ten minutes walking before arriving at the room with a terminal. The door was locked, something Artemis quickly undid by corrupting the locking mechanism. Dr. Ather entered first, immediately beelining to the terminals in the room. Artemis followed in after, shutting the door and locking it from the inside. Undoing his corruption without his blood took a moment and a good bit of concentration.

When he was done, Dr. Ather had just finished finding out how many scps had escaped. Artemis stood beside her, quietly watching her type in the transmission. Six scps has escaped, all whos designations he didn't recognize. Dr. Ather quickly sent the transmission the moment she could, sighing quietly. "There. Now we can get back to your cell to wait."

Artemis nodded and took hold of her arm once more, moving to the door. He corrupted it before exiting. He knew the way back so this time, he led them both.

At one point, the two could hear something walking towards their general direction. Artemis had bared his teeth, ready to fight if need be. While he didn't much care for Dr. Ather, he still didn't want her blood getting on him. The footsteps seemed to pause before beginning to get quieter as they walked away.

Thankfully, the footsteps were not in their path.

When they finally reached Artemis' cell again, the two hastily made their way inside. Artemis locked the door after shutting it before moving to sit down, sighing. He ran a hand through his hair with a grumble. "Now, we wait for help. Hopefully you're transmission was worth the trouble and risk."

It was four hours later when the lockdown finally ended. The six escaped scps had been returned to their containment cells. Artemis had let the researcher out of his own cell once he made sure things were okay.

"I suppose this is the end of our little meeting. Do stay safe." The scp spoke as Dr. Ather left his containment cell. Once she was approached by mtf agents, he shut and locked the door to his cell once more.

So much for a normal meeting.
