There's a soft gasp as he bolts upright, eyes wide as he looks around. He's panicking, finding everything to be dark. Too dark. Damien scrambles to his feet, summoning his sword before splitting it in two. He's terrified, not having remembered when he passed out. Did he pass out from a death or simply because he was tired?
It takes several long minutes before he calms down enough to lower his weapons a bit. They vanished before he slumps to his knees, hands burying in his hair. He wanted out. Fuck, he wanted out! Damien doesn't notice the familiar male slowly walk towards him, cane gripped tightly in his hands. Not until that familiar voice comes through the panicked rush of thoughts.
"Solace...? Solace old friend are you alright?"
The knight's head snaps up, eyes widening. Damien. Solace lets out a soft sob before scrambling to his feet, stumbling towards the mayor. Damien walks forward and catches the other before he collapses again. He doesn't say anything, simply holding his district attorney close. The knight sobs, clinging to his mayor.
Damien gently kneels with the other, gently rubbing his back. "It's okay, it's okay. I'm right here old friend. You have nothing to fear." He mumbles, worry dripping from his voice. Solace simply clings to the mayor, sobbing out his name over and over. He doesn't realize the other was stone cold.
It takes about five minutes before Solace is able to pull back and wipe away his tears. "D-Damien I— please...please get me out of here." He whimpers. He's not sure how Damien was still in here, in the cursed mirror, but he's glad the other is. At least this meant he hopefully wouldn't loose his mind entirely. "I-I jus' wanna go home. Please." He sobs out.
The mayor sets the cane down before a hand shifts to gently wipe away the rising tears. Damien frowned softly as Solace tilted his head into his hand. "Oh Solace..." He mumbles softly, shaking his head. "There is no getting out." He then cackles, voice becoming distorted and broken.
Before the knight can process much, the mayor stands. Damien grinned at the knight, eyes looking as if they were scratched out with sharpie and rows of sharp teeth that posed a threat in view. "There is no getting out. This is your hell now my dearest Solace~" He purrs, walking around the crying angel.
"I've gone and left you, left you in the dirt. You never did matter to me after all~ It was an easy task, to abandon you in this mirror. To take your broken corpse and walk away with it~ Now you're stuck here, forever, while I live on." Damien cackled loudly, an ear splitting ringing now echoing around the endless void.
Solace yelped and covered his ears, curling up. He tried to tell the false mayor to go away but he couldn't. The ringing felt like it was going to split his skull in half. He sobbed, shaking. He wanted out!
Then, all of a sudden, the ringing stopped. Damien looked up and over at where the mayor had once been. No one was there. He took a moment before letting out a choked sob. He curled up on his side, wings appearing and wrapping around him in a cocoon. "I'm sorry..." Was all he could whimper out.
