Summary: Pine is a new recruit at the Red team and is starting to grow attracted to a certain sharpshooter

The new recruit was rather silent. He'd arrived not long ago, covered head to toe in a black cloak. He said his name was Pine and he was the replacement for the mage class. Sage had long since left the team, leave a deep sorrow in them. The previous mage had died when respawn was down and his funeral had come and passed some time before Pine arrived.

Pine was currently in the kitchen, dressed in black pants and a white T-shirt that had the back cut out in the design of a dragon on the back. He was making some breakfast for the team since it was his turn to cook for the day. He didn't hear the sound of silent footsteps enter the kitchen until he heard the sound of a lighter being turned on.

"Hello Spy." Came Pine's smooth voice as he spoke, glancing behind him at the Blu. "Hello Pine. I must ask to talk, if only a moment." Spy slowly approached the other, standing nearby but out of the way. Pine simply hummed softly, as quiet as always. "Go ahead. I will be busy though so you'll on get half of my attention." Came his calm voice and Spy decided that was good enough.

"You have not put some sort of...spell on our Sniper have you? Doing such is against the rules." He asked, tilting his head in an inquisitive manner. Pine paused, about to flip an egg before glancing to Spy. He returned to the food, flipping one of the eggs before using the spatula to start to cut it up. "No, I haven't. I've no reason to and besides, I'm very aware of the rules. Why?" He asked.

"I'm simply curious. He has not been...himself for the past couple of days." Came the casual reply but Pine was curious now. "Oh? How so? To me he's been as stoic as usual. Or what, does he usually chat up the team and laugh?" He asked with a faint show of a smirk. Spy hummed disapprovingly, exhaling a puff of smoke.

"No but he has changed since you're arrival. You've been here for about, let's say half a year yes? You're still technically the new recruit because the team is still weary of you. Apologies if I seem rude for asking." The Frenchman spoke, accent a bit thick. Pine laughed at that, shaking his head.

"No, you don't seem rude. It's natural and expected for a Spy to question those around him no? As for the team still being skeptical, I don't blame them. I hardly talk let alone interact with them save for days when I really need a drink and the only one closest is thanks to a victory." He replied back, now working on turning the eggs into scrambled eggs. He had bacon nearby, ready to be cooked and eaten.

Spy hummed and started to head for the hallway. "Well, I shall be seeing you then Pine. Take care of yourself oui?" "Of course. The same to you frenchie." The scoff at the nickname made Pine smirk some.

Spy and Pine's conversation had left the latter's mind quickly. It had been a week or two since their chat and Pine had paid no mind to the conversation and it's possible significance. Now, the man was quietly watching Sniper's van from the roof. He tilted his head some, dark eyes watching the vehicle. He had no reason to watch it, he was simply bored and had nothing to do for the day.

The match had been canceled due to the respawn system on the Red side having broken down. Which meant the Admin had to give everyone a week long break. Some of the mercenaries were happy but some were not, knowing of the boring week ahead. Pine sighed and ran a hand through his curly locks, thinking to himself silently. He'd been feeling...odd lately.

He'd talked to a certain Australian several times since his forgotten chat with Spy. He knew the odd feeling but he'd been shoving it down for the past while, finding it a bit odd. Why Sniper, of all people on the team? Why the Australian that didn't seem to pay much mind to anyone? Pine wasn't even sure if the other liked guys. For all he knew, Sniper was heavily against that.
