Willow's POV
Shit. I think to myself, looking up at Dom and Alex, standing right outside the side door. My eyes immediately go to Alex. I watch him as he, too, looks at me, and then down at Denis and my hand intertwined, and then up at Denis, scoffing, and looking away.
"What's up, guys?" Denis, innocently, asks, as he walks over to them.
I try to loosen my grip in his hands, but he doesn't seem to notice.
"Hey guys," Dom replies, automatically sensing the tension.
I look over at him, helplessly, and he gives me an understanding nod.
"Congrats on your win today," Dom says, nodding to Denis.
Right after he says, that, I let go of Denis' hand to pretend to tuck my hair behind my ear with Alex watching. Out of everyone... everyone in the hotel... why. I think.
"And congratulations to you both, too," Denis chuckles. "I heard they were both good games!"
"Thanks, but I missed playing on your court, Willow," Dom answers. "Whoever interviewed me wasn't as cool as yours."
"All the questions are the same, dummy," I laugh.
"I know, I just like seeing you," Dom winks.
I roll my eyes, but sneak a peak at Alex, who hasn't said a word.
"How long do you think this'll take?" Denis asks.
People had stopped coming out the building, but the alarm was still going off.
"Probably half an hour? If it's a false alarm," Dom answers.
"Hm, wanna wait at the café across the street?" I ask.
"Sure," Denis answers.
I look at Dom with wide eyes, signaling him to say yes too.
"Oh- Oh, yeah, I'm down," Dom says. "Coming, Sasch?"
"No, I think I'll hang here with Stef," he answers, seeing Stef and Andrey walking over.
"Where are you guys headed?" Stef asks after greeting us. "I heard someone put plastic in the microwave, so they have to check out the area, so this'll take awhile."
"We were gonna go to Earl's Coffeehouse," Denis asks.
"Oh, let's go with them," Stef motions to Andrey who agrees.
Dom and I look over at Alex who closes his eyes and lets out an annoyed sigh before saying, "Fine."
-
"I can go order," Alex says. "What do you guys want?"
"Oh, I'll go with you!" I exclaim, standing up from my seat.
Alex doesn't protest, and we hear what everyone wants before walking to the front counter to order.
"So, you and Denis, huh. Should've saw that one coming," he sighs.
"I'm sorry," I answer. "I just... I don't really know what to say here."
"There's nothing to say," Alex shrugs. "Absolutely nothing."
