Chapter 14

         Rei's Birthday

         It's been at least a week since Karma woke up. Nothing has happened since. Karma's gotten better but not much. He's still hurt, but he's getting better by the day. Sarcasm has been seeming weird lately though. When ever I go near her she tenses up and then runs away. I wonder what's wrong?

       "Hey what's wrong? You've been spacing out a lot lately." Karma asks me. He is still in the hospital and when he's not he has to have someone watching over him, which is usually me.

       "Yeah, I'm fine." I say.

       "Ok. That's great." Karma said. It then got silent between us. Neither of us wanted to talk.

       "How are you feeling?" I ask.

       "Fine." He says. I nod.

       "Ok. Well I should get going now." I says walking out the door before he says anything. I slowly walk back to my room. Once I get there, I flop on my bed, and fall asleep without changing.

       "SURPRISE!!!" Is what I hear when I wake up. I groan and flip over.

       "Go away! I'm trying to sleep." I say.

       "Get up. Look at our surprise." I hear what I think is Sarcasm say. I groan again and open my eyes. What I see, is definitely a surprise. Karma and Sarcasm are in front of my bed holding a big red velvet (as far as I know) cake.

       "What's with the cake?" I ask.

       "Well it's your birthday today." Sarcasm says. My eyes widen with surprise.

       "What? How would you know?" I ask.

       "Well, when I left my phone was on the right date in the real world. So every since then it had been telling me what day it is." Sarcasm says.

       "Wow. So..." I say staring at the cake," What kind is it?" I ask.

       "Red velvet." Karma says.

       "I remember you saying last year that red velvet is your favorite so I thought that we could make it for you 16th birthday." She says. My mouth has started to water.

       "Well then lets eat the cake." I say. Sarcasm smiles and takes out a knife. In the corner of my eye I can see Karma look at the knife cautiously. Sarcasm turns to look at him and smiles. He gives her a small smile back, still eyeing the knife. Sarcasm then turns back to the cake and cuts 3 big pieces. She puts one on each of the 3 plates that she also brought.

       She hands both me and Karma one and a fork. After she gives it to me, I then dig in. Karma looks at me like I'm a ghost and then eats his slowly and carefully. I roll my eyes and continue eat mine. Sarcasm just rolls her eyes at me and starts eating hers. It was 30 minutes until we were all done.

       "That was good. Who made it? Haruto?" I ask. I look at Sarcasm and Karma and notice that Karma's cheeks tinged with red.

       "Actually Karma made it." Sarcasm says. My eyes widen in surprise, and Karma blushes even more," I never knew you were so good at baking." Sarcasm says turning towards Karma.

       "My mother taught me. She thought that I would be a girl so she got so used to thinking that I was going to like this kind of thing. So she taught me anyway." Karma says.

       "Oh. Then your mom is a also good at baking." Sarcasm says. Karma nods.

       "She was the best. But she gave up baking awhile ago." Karma says. Then it gets silent.

       "So you should get up." Sarcasm say," Come on, Karma we should go so that Rei can get ready."

       "Ok." Karma says back. Then they both head out waving to me before going. After there gone and I can no longer hear their foot steps, I flop back on my bed. The only bad thing I can think about my birthday being today, is I most likely didn't get many, if any, presents. I then sigh. I lay there for a few minutes, then I get up to get dressed.

       I get out a Slender man tee-shirt and get out a pair of my red skinny jeans. I hurry to get ready so that I can get down stairs. When I'm done, I hurry to get downstairs. When I get there, I see Sarcasm standing in front of the kitchen.

       "Your not allowed in here until later." She says. I roll my eyes.

       "Don't worry, I wasn't going in there, there's nothing for me to do in there." I say, turning around and walk away. I then walk back to my room figuring it would be best just to stay in there until later. So when I get there I just walk in and go to my desk. I sit down and look down at the top. I see a card. The front is Purple and says 'Happy Birthday Rei!' I smile looking at it. I open it up and look at what's inside.

       'Dear Rei,

       Happy Birthday brother. I hope you have a great birthday.

       Sarcasm'

       I smile at this. I never thought that Sarcasm would even take time to write anything. Then I take out my drawing journal, and draw about what has happened so far thinking that I could draw the rest later. When I'm done with that I close it up and look at the time. 4:59. I put everything away knowing that they would hopefully call me done for dinner soon. When I'm done putting it all away I look at the clock once again. 5:04.

       'I wonder why they haven't said anything about dinner yet. So, of course, I walk downstairs slowly, but not with out grabbing a crowbar. I didn't know what it was. They could have been murdered and then the murderer is waiting for me to come downstairs. I knew that it was very unlikely, but you never know, this is a horror game.

       I walk down the stairs slowly, the crowbar in front of me. When I get to the bottom of the stairs, the first thing I notice is that all the lights are out. I stand still for a moment. I suddenly see a figure in front of me. Not knowing who or what it is I hit it with the crowbar. I hear them groan. Then the lights suddenly turn on. There I see everyone just staring at me. On the floor in front of me I see Karma laying there, holding his stomach in pain.

       "Karma! Are you okay? I'm so sorry! I didn't know it was you!" I yell.

       "I'm fine." He groans. I help him up. I then look at where I hit him and realized that his wound has opened. His shirt was covered blood where the wound was.

       "Your wound. It's opened." I say. He then looks down and removes his hand, which are now covered  in blood. I then hurry to help him to the hospital, so that I redo the bandage and also stitch up the wound. I can't believe that this had to happen to me today.
