The day arrived. Remi was really excited about his date, even though he went out pretty often with his girlfriend.

The park was called "Liberty Park", it had a big lake on its top-right side and there were also plenty of ducks and benches; we could say that it was the perfect place for couples and for people who just wanted to relax. Remi loved going there, it reminded him of the good old times he had with his parents when he was 6. He went there to play with them very often. Despite him not socialising with the other kids even back then, he still was happy to just stay there with his parents.

He went there with his girlfriend twice. They went for long walks to then go to the benches, sit down and just talk and have a good time.

Remi showed up. It was around 6pm.

She was there, at the entrance, waiting for him.

"You look.. gorgeous" whispered Remi, as he saw her charming and gorgeous red dress with her wonderful blonde hair, that paired perfectly with her blue eyes and gold glasses. "You look good on red".

She blushed.

"I'm glad you like it.." she whispered as her face turned completely red.

"Anyways, do we go straight to the benches near the lake or do we walk a little bit first?" he says with a trembling and indecisive tone of voice.

"Let's walk a little bit first! You know I love going for long walks with you" she answered, as she let out a little laugh.

They went walking.

The feelings Remi felt towards her were beyond any description. He always thought that there was no other girl in this world that would make him feel the way she did. Her face, her voice, her personality.. everything about her was just perfect. He did not see one flaw in her. He fell in love when he was 10 and now they have been together for 5 years. Nothing in the world could separate them.

"You look so thoughtful.. is there anything bothering you?" she asked, while staring at his eyes.

"Nothing really.. I was just thinking about past stuff." he said, as he slowly started to blush.

"Mh.. let me guess, you were thinking about that time when you were 12 and you told me you loved me for the first time?" she said with a big smile, as she started chuckling a little bit.

"N-No! That was not what I was thinking about!" he said, as his face turned red.

He remained silent and tried to avoid any eye contact, but Carla wouldn't stop looking at his face.

"C'mon, you look so cute right now! Stop hiding!" she told him, as she gently took him by the face and turned him right in front of her.

He did not say a word, but still avoided eye contact.

"I'm sick of walking! Let's go to the benches" she proposed.

"Alright, let's go" replied Remi, as he started following her.

They went to the benches and sat down. They both started admiring the landscape; the lake, the ducks, the trees nearby, the people walking.. it was marvelous.

"Listen.." he said out of blue.

"Mh?" she replied.

"I.. I love you." he further said.

She looked at him and stood silent.

"You're the only thing that brings me joy in this awful world.. I'm so glad to have you in my life." he said, as he started to weep a little bit.

"Don't make me cry, you stupid.." she said, as her eyes started to water a little bit.

He hugged her. It was one of the best hugs she had ever received. She just didn't know what to say anymore at that point. The atmosphere, the surroundings, everything all together was just so perfect.

Almost 2 hours went by like that and the sun started to set.

They both stood silent, watching the magnificence of nature. Staying in that park at 8pm, while watching the sunset, sat on a bench with the person you love the most by your side and near a lake must have been the best feeling they both have felt in quite a while.

Carla's phone began to ring.

"Who's calling?" he asked.

"It's my father, I think I have to go. I'm sorry to leave you this early.." she replied, as she got a little sadder.

"You don't need to worry, even though you didn't stay here a lot, I'm glad you were here to enjoy the sunset with me." he said, as he started to blush and smile.

She stood silent again and looked at him in the eyes.

"I love you." she said, as she took him by the face again and kissed him on the lips. After that, she began to run towards the exit. Her father was calling her unceasingly; maybe it was something important.

He didn't say a word. He just had a big smile on his face.

That day, Remi felt like he was the happiest person ever.
