I stayed up the whole night. I could not sleep, Why?

There was so much on my mind. One about Steve, another about Matty and another about myself.

How would Steve be able to cheat a mate?

I had come to many conclusions that night.

Maybe Matts sisters friend threatened him, told him he had to do what she said or she'd tell someone something that was not true. Maybe she had something of his.

But then I came to the conclusion of a false mate. Maybe Matts sister only thought he was her mate and he went along with it.

Or maybe...there was a super freaky, weird, mystic three way bond.

That sounded so wrong...

About Matty.

Well, he had kissed me a few times, and we have snuggled on the couch and everything but after learning about all this...mate stuff, I wondered what it was we had between us...because it was very obvious that we were not mates. I mean...he said Vampire male and female. I'm human...

That was such a disappointment.

About myself.

I just wondered what I was even doing here, I mean my dad never really made an effort for me in the past, he came for my birthday with cards and everything but never asked for me to come here for a half year.

Why had I got a microchip in the back of my head, because the explanation he gave me didn't make sense.

Nothing actually made sense anymore. And that's coming from...well, me. But I've been doing good, I've been completely calm for the past, day or two.

Flinging the covers off my body, I trudged my way out of my room, across the living room and into the bathroom.

Locking the door I looked at my reflection, I wasn't going to lie. I looked like crap. I had very visible purple lines under my eyes, I was going to have to put make-up over them.

I guess for the last day of the long weekend I could at lest have a pamper day, without Mel it would suck but still...

Finally emerging from the bathroom, I felt really good to be honest. Pampering myself was good.

I did my legs and arms, I bathed in vanilla bath salts for a while until the water got to room temperature. I washed my hair twice and nourished my hair, putting my special oil on to protect it from my strainers and curlers. I put a face pack on, and it was awesome, if I don't say so myself.

Soon later I did my hair in soft ringlets and a little bit of make-up covered my face, and that was it.

Until I did my nails red.

Prancing around the dorm with a grin on my face, Matty came running in.

"I've been looking for you everywhere! Where were you?" He asked, quickly crossing the room until he met me.

"In that bathroom...I was having girl time..." I shrugged "Why were you looking for me?" I asked, answering his question with another.

"I thought we could hang out today, get away from Steve and all that..." He smiled slightly.

"I don't think...that's a great idea..." I spoke silently.

"Why not?" He wondered, searching my eyes.

"Well, you have a mate to find, I'm obviously not it and...we have something...special? Between us that if it goes any further then...when you find her, it will break me..." I blabbered, my eyelashes getting uncomfortably wet "I really don't want to get hurt, and I like you yeah, but as you said, she's one special girl, more than me, I mean, I'm human" I laughed "So, no, I can't hang out with you today...or really any other day..."

"But Em, if you'd listen-"

"I really don't want to listen about your mate" I snapped.

"Are you-"

"Are you calling me jealous?" I glared.

"Absolutely not" he snorted.

"You were, you just about called me that. Well you know what I'm not, so stick that up your @$$ and let it die" I snapped, crossing my arms over my chest.

"Why are you so uptight?" He asked shocked.

"Why are you so unbelievably stupid you blood sucking bat" I hissed.

His mouth gapped open, his eyes burning holes into mine.

"Well, at lest I know where we stand" he snapped back.

Suddenly realising my mistake, I tried to fix it right away "Look, I'm-"

"No, know what? Your just a filthy human" he hissed "I should have never got involved with you, Darren was right to leave, you're no better than any of the rest of them. Stupid, vile...things." He growled.

His eyes snapped to black and his face...twisted...paler and more unnatural, a demon...full vampire.

My heart battered my chest, enough to make a bruise.

I held onto my breath, staggering backwards.

He growled, just as quickly as it all stared, Steve came to avert it.

"Dude...calm down, she didn't mean it." Steve reassured, putting his hands on Matts chest.

"Don't touch me" he snapped "Ever"

Matt growled and a right jab flew into Steve's stomach.

Steve grunted "Let's not start something that we can't finish"

"No, let's"

Suddenly it felt as if this fight between me and Matt turned into a boxing match between friends.

Matty was obviously the experienced one. Cross, cross, jab, jab, double time! Right upper cut!

I'd hoped they would stop soon but their stamina was unbelievable. They never got tired, when bruised faces came. They went just as fast.

They both were going for the kill. Literally.

"GUYS LETS BE CIVILISED!" I screamed.

Steve growled at Matty, bearing his fangs.

I stepped back from the fight, noticing a knife in Steve's hand, I knew I had to get help.

Steve lunged, Matt deflected, the knife jabbed into Steve's shoulder, then into Matts arm. Eventually the knife was threw, and I guess, everything was more doomed from then on...
