Hop scotch pov

It might have been only a few days since Em had left, but I was already feeling the side effects of her leaving.

I had no best friend to share all my secrets with, I didn't even have my brother. He was too busy chasing after a girl he might not even get back.

So I now sat in the sofa, with a tub of chocolate ice cream I munched to a sad movie. Shed a few tears, or a lot, blew my nose a couple of times and fell asleep in my pjs.

I had woke in a better mood than I had originally went to sleep in, I would have said I was PMSing but that would be a lie, vampires don't get periods. Just seriously hormonal...

It must be my 'time of the month'.

I would have said 'when I was human I-' but j was never human, which isn't suck a bad thing. All the bleeding would just put me off, says the girl who drinks blood for a living. I really do crack myself up sometimes, I thought.

Emily's Pov

I would have said to myself, Rio is such a wonderful, cultural place with amazing people and great food.

But so far? Rio was a wild, busy mess of a place, with people bustling their way through each other. My first meal was a packaged curry that I refused to eat any meat out of because I was positive that my mother couldn't cook, and it would give me food poisoning.

I had went or shopping the day after for fresh fruit, meat, and other essential things.

I had been smacked, by a fish.

It was slimy, fat, smelly, and seriously disgusting.

I had tried communicating with a woman that obviously hadn't a clue about the language of English, I was sure I said 'Can I have a salmon?' But obviously that's not what it came across as.

Lets just say I had a cheek smelling of rotten fish.

Also, lets be glad that my phone buzzed and stalled my current sword fish fight.

"Hello? Zombie apocalypse 101, guide to a rotten free day, how can I help you?" I answered, faking a southern accent.

"Oh, har har, hilarious, I just called because I'm all alone, with no one to talk to or watch a chick flick with, I'm lonely and hormonal as hell. Help,"

Ah, Cordelia. Lately she had been phoning every half an hour, waiting her phone bill to just talk.

"So, what you are saying is that you're flat out horny and there no one to 'satisfy your needs' so you call for a little chit chat before you eat chocolate ice cream and watch a movie with Channing Tatum in it?"

I smiled at my own remark, and only smirked more when there was no answer from the other end.

"Girl, you seriously need to learn to put things carefully on the table," she groaned, "For all you know, I could have been in that snappy mood," she grumbled.

My laugh rumbled deep in my belly and I snorted "You need to lighten up,"

Puffing a sigh she questioned "-Anyway, how's Rio, see any handsome men that could whisk me away for the night?"

"Not unless sweaty old men, with seven children count. I think my mom purposely chosen a place where hunky men were band." I grumbled the last part "You actually caught me at the perfect time, you just paused me from 'accidentally' killing an old woman,"

She sighed "What happened?"

"She slapped me, with a fish."

There was silence.

"What kind of fish?"

There was no laugh or even a hint that she was joking.

"Are you seriously that hormonal that you have resulted into asking what fish it is, instead, of laughing that I was slapped with it?"

"Yes." Was her slow reply.

I grumbled nonsense on my end of the phone "Listen, as much as I'd love to stay and chat, I have to get back. I have this dinner thing that's really important and involves some serious preparation time."

"Ok, see you later girl,"

Rolling my eyes I replied back and ended the call.

By a few minutes later I had gotten home to a riot. Clothes, shoes, shoe boxes, make-up and everything else imaginable was littered across the whole house.

"Um, mom? What's going on?" I called, dropping all the shopping bags in the process.

"Honey, all these people are here to help me chose dresses and do my hair and make-up. I need to look great next to Mark or else everyone will talk about me," she gushed.

I raised my eyebrows "What's wrong with the way you would look if you did all that yourself?"

She gave me a shocked face "You can't be serious,"

"Mom, I am serious. Without Mark in your life you didn't mind what people thought about you,"

My mom has turned out to be such a brat, Money really does change people.

I pushed my way past all the crap in the room, and made my wait into my temporary room.

I had about five hours to get ready for this dinner I need to go to.

Let it begin.
