It was a mistake, probably... but Kai's prefrontal cortex wasn't in control at this very moment.
He should tell her, explain to her that their connection was the very thing that fueled this drive. It was so strong; the first thing he could boldly say he didn't have control over.
His whole being was created to control, for control, but his soulmate came along, giving him something he couldn't control, his feelings for her, the maddening attraction that had his mind spiraling in different directions, when he looked at her. It didn't help that her beauty was extremely alluring. Her eyes made to enchant anyone who stared too long at them.
He was quite sure he was amongst the many people who fell under the spell her eyes cast at first glance. It was impossible not to fall.
Not when she looked at you like you were the only one she saw.
Tell me, how could he have refused her offer? All he wanted to do was spend every single moment he had with her, and she, handing him this opportunity on a silver platter, had him accept it like it was the only golden opportunity he'd ever have.
But that didn't mean it wasn't a bit wrong; the fact that she knew absolutely nothing about their world and the true depth of their relationship, made accepting her offer very wrong, but every need that pulled within him blocked those thoughts, giving him a wayward solution. One that required him to dance to the music, after.
They both stepped into the comfortable confinement of Sasha Whitmore's home.
The last time he had been to the Whitmore house, it was sometime in the 1840s where he had joined the lovely family for house opening celebrations. It was a long time ago, but he remembered it like it only happened yesterday.
Nothing had really changed much, just the position of the furniture, paintings and a little bit of added decoration. The smell of lavender is still hung in the air, creating a peaceful aura all around them.
The sound of the door shutting took his attention. His eyes followed his soulmate's movements. "So, what exactly did you have in mind?" He asked, even though he could read her like an open book.
A slow smile spread across her lips as she came close to him. "Something along the lines of... our clothes being far away from our bodies, and our bodies, pressed against each other."
A smile broke on his face as he pulled her closer to him, not able to get over his lust and his want for her, all of her. He could hear the pounding of her heart, could feel her nervousness and excitement. Her reaction to him being close, told him she had never done something as dangerous as this, taking someone who was supposed to be a stranger, to her home, and giving herself to him.
She wouldn't be the only one doing something as dangerous as this for the first time, he also wasn't one to be reckless, especially with someone as special as she was.
"Are you sure that's what you want?" he asked, his knuckles coming to brush her cheek, tenderly. "Positive?"
She tilted her head. "I usually don't do this, but like I said, there's something about you that changes how I see everything, so yes... I'm sure. Distract me." She said, taking his hand in hers as she led them both up the stairs into her room.
When they got there, he noticed the room had a spectacular view of the Bane woods, although he had suspected this from the many times he would stand outside the house, watching over her.
He still didn't think it was creepy at all... he was only an Alpha who was forced to stay away from their soulmate because this was the 21st century, shows like The Vampire Diaries existed, and to humans, Vampires, or Werewolves are just myths, they weren't real...
