((Jace's Point of View))
"What's the new girl like?" my second in command, Finn, asks me the next morning.
"She's the one." I tell him.
"Your soul mate?" he asks, wide eyed.
I nod. "I got that feeling that everyone talks about."
He smirks. "I know that feeling." We watch as his soul mate, Ren, walks over and kisses him. "Jace found his soul mate."
She smiles at me. "Congrats."
"Thanks." I say. "Thing is she doesn't know."
"Tell her, dude." Finn encourages.
"Where is she?" Ren asked me, ignoring her mate.
"That's her now." I say, watching as Morgan walks into the dining hall. Her brothers follow her closely, wary of their surroundings. She looks around, making sure that their was no potential danger. I wanted to pull her into my arms, and assure her that I would protect her no matter what. "Morgan, over here." I said, motioning over to my table.
She sat down, as did her brothers. "Who are they?" she asks.
"This is my second in command, Finn, and his mate, Ren." I introduced. "Guys, this is Morgan Thomas and her brothers, Jackson and Jack."
"What exactly is a mate?" Morgan asks. "I've heard so much about them through the years, but never got the exact meaning of what they are."
"Oh that's easy." Finn says. "Mates are your meaning for existance. You would do anything for them. When a werewolf meets his mate then he feels like there is a new light in the world. If they are in danger then we would do nothing to stop everything to save them from it. They are our worlds. When a human girl sees her mate then she automatically thinks him to be attractive. Though she doesn't realize that she's his mate until he says something to her. You see, a human doesn't realize mates since it's mainly a werewolf thing. But soon the human will admit to being the werewolf's mate. Then he will change her soon after that. Or at least, that's how it usually goes."
"Not usually, Finn." Ren corrects. "That's just how it was in our case."
She turned to me. "So then who is your mate?"
I rubbed the back of my neck nervously. "Haven't told her yet."
She rolls her eyes. "Boys." she mutters under her breath, thinking that no one had heard it. But I had hear it, oh boy had I heard it.
I payed attention to everything that she did. Every little nervous habit I noticed when Finn was explaining the whole mate thing. She brushed her hair behind her ear before reaching to grab a piece of french toast. I wanted to badly to reach out and push it back for her. To stroke her hair casually as we talked about something as stupid as how the weather is. I wanted to take her up into my arms and kiss her. Right now I couldn't do it. Not until I told her.
"I would offer you a penny for you thought, Jace, but I left it in my room." Morgan says. She picks up a small grape and throws it at me. "Maybe that'll suffice instead."
I snort. "What is this? The size of your brain? How is this supposed to suffice as a penny."
She picks up another and it hits me in the eye. "No, your head is making a hallow sound. I'm pretty sure that this is your brain."
"Nope, it's bigger than that, princess." I said, with a smirk.
"Don't call me that." she snaps at me. That little fiesty temper. I loved it.
Then she gets up and runs out of the room. I see a hint of a tear slide down her cheek before she slams the door behind her.
"What did I do wrong?" I wonder out loud.
Jackson sighs. "Our dad used to call her that."
"Where is he?" I ask him.
"He's dead." he tells me.
((Morgan's Point of View))
"Stupid Jace." I mutter punching the wall of my room. "Stupid alpha."
There was a knock on my door.
I opened it, then saw who it was. "What the hell do you want?" I snap at him.
"To apologize." Jace says.
"Apology not accepted." I yelled, then slammed the door right in his gorgeous face.
"Morgan, please talk to me." he pleads.
"Never, now you can go rot in hell for all I care." I go back to punching the wall.
Jace doesn't understand. I hate being called princess. I never wanted to be called that again. Not after two years ago.
------Flashback---------
"Princess, please help me!" Dad screamed as the wolf version of Jackson lunged at him again.
I looked away and held onto Jack tight as we were huddled in the corner.
Blood was all over the walls and screams filled the night.
I heard crying. I looked over to see Jackson laying on the ground, sobbing his eyes out. I leave Jack in the corner and crawl over to Jackson. I pull him into my arms.
He cries into my shoulder. "What have I done?"
----Flashback over-----
