Chapter 24~ You'll Never Be Alone! Our New Friend, Toshiro!

Days passed after the cures big victory over the more powerful Double Dark Sparkle. Topaz led the girls to the same clearing where the battle took place. "Watch this." He took out his sword and slashed it through one of the trees. It revealed itself to be a hideout for Topaz. "So this is where you've been hiding out." Kaori remarked. "Yeah ever since I arrived on Earth a few weeks ago." He said.

"I figured this would be the perfect for me to properly explain things." "Didn't you just do that?" Momoka asked. "Well yeah...but we need to discuss all that went on yesterday." "That's true." Akari agreed. They took a seat at his small table. "So you four have been fighting against Moonstone's minions and Dark Sparkles and Kaori-san was one of them until you purified her and she joined you guys." He recalled. "Yep pretty much." said Natsu.

"You all basically explained you guys are, so I think I should properly explain who I am." He cleared his throat and looked back to them. "As I said before, my name is Topaz and I'm a citizen from the Crystalline Kingdom. I was originally just an ordinary citizen trapped in the dark, until Kaori-san saved me and led me into the light." "Saved you? What do you mean by that?" Natsu asked. "You sure you want to tell them all this?" Kaori whispered to him.

"Yeah. They ought to know." "Okay. I'll back you up then." She turned to the others. "We'll explain. So as you know everyone possesses a special inner sparkle that makes them who they are. Each is special and unique and none is the same as another. But as special as they are, they aren't always accepted and respected. People don't know of inner sparkles here on Earth, but in the Crystalline Kingdom they are well valued and worshiped even. So people can sometimes be selfish and cruel over sparkles they don't accept."

"You don't mean" Natsu began. "My parents were the prime example of this. They were selfish people who wanted their kid to have the perfect and most amazing inner sparkle to their standards. Unfortunately my inner sparkle didn't meet their selfish expectations, so that's where things went downhill." Topaz added. "They treated me like a punching bag instead of their son. They didn't care about me at all and forced me to slave away until I could learn to meet their expectations." The girls gasped in shock. "To me...they weren't parents....they were puppeteers controlling me on puppet strings."

He paused and Kaori take over. "I'm afraid to say that things would have ended badly had I not met him that day. It was about seven years ago and was out for a walk in the Crystalline Kingdom village side. I then caught glimpse of a boy my age who looked beat up and tired. I saw that his parents were behind him and scolding him as he slaved away. I knew well and clear that stuff like this was illegal in the Crystalline Kingdom so I couldn't let this go. I walked over to them."

Flashback
"Excuse me!" Little Kaori called to them. "The Princess Quartzite!" They exclaimed. "I hope you're aware that child slavery and abuse is illegal here as my mother clearly stated!" She scolded them. But since it's just me right now, I'll spare you a lifetime in the dungeon by handing him over to me." The two looked at each other and sighed. They pushed him over to Kaori and went back inside. "Nice to meet you, I'm Princess Quartzite. What's your name?" She asked him. He looked at her and simply muttered, "Topaz..." "Well Topaz, come with me." She grabbed his hand and led him to the castle.

"Since then Topaz has been living in the castle as a special resident. And as of recently, he's training to be a Crystalline knight at the time Moonstone invaded." The cures were all in silence. They couldn't believe somewhere as beautiful and majestic as the Crystalline Kingdom could be this cruel and selfish. "That's horrible." Natsu finally spat out. "Nobody should ever have to suffer under their parent's selfish control." Natsu felt tears fall from her eyes. "Natsu..." Akari sat next to her.

"I'm sorry....I just can't stand it when people who've done nothing wrong have to suffer from things like this. I just hate it." Akari comforted Natsu. "I know. I can't stand it either. But he no longer has to suffer like that anymore. We have Kaori to thank for that." Kaori smiled. "Yeah I guess." "You are such an amazing person Kaori. You changed his life for the better that young. It's truly amazing." "Thanks." Kaori thanked her. She turned back to Topaz. "You may have been all alone and hopeless back then, but that's all in the past. You'll never be alone anymore, Topaz!"

Topaz smiled at them. "Toshiro." "Huh?" "You can call be Toshiro. It's the human name Kaori gave to me." The girls smiled. "Well, welcome to our happy family, Toshiro!" They all huddled together in a group hug. Toshiro couldn't be anymore happier. He had found the light in his darkness all thanks to Kaori. No, she was his light. He couldn't be thankful enough to have met her.
