Phoenix

Today is November 17th, 2014.

The day I'm getting married.

I'm officially done with my second trimester, which I'm really happy about.

Meaning we'll get to meet baby girl soon.

And yes, we're having a girl.

I had my dress on, and my makeup done.

Meagan, Sarah, Linda and I were sitting in my dressing room, as Sarah curled my hair.

"Wow, Phoenix. Over a year ago, you were in my wedding, and now I'm in yours.", Sarah smiled. (never gets old)

"I know, right? It's crazy, now that you bring it up.", I replied.

"Oh shoot, we have to be out there in two minutes. Phee, your dad is coming.", Meagan said.

Sarah finished curling the very last strand of my hair before I stood up, slightly waddling.

"Oh god, I'm getting married in a few minutes.", I sighed, sitting down.

"Breathe, Phee. You're going to do great.", Linda told me, quickly clipping my veil on.

My dad eventually came knocking on the door, smiling when he saw me.

"You look so beautiful, Princess.", he whispered, kissing my forehead.

"Thanks dad.", I replied, linking my arm in his.

The Intro to Photograph by Ed Sheeran, my favorite song, began to play as everyone stood up.

Pete and Meagan walked in, then Brendon and Sarah, then Spencer and Linda.

Ruby walked down the aisle as she threw the petals.

Then, it was my turn.

I saw almost every jaw drop as I walked in.

Dallon was smiling the whole time, and I could tell he was holding in his tears.

"I love you.", he mouthed.

"I love you more.", I replied.

I handed my bouquet off to Meagan, as Dallon and I held hands.

"Friends, Dallon and Phoenix have invited us here today, in the presence of God, to share in the celebration of their marriage. We who gather here today are separated by the many different experiences that we have had.

Despite these differences, we gather here today in this place because we share something in common. We share a desire to affirm and support the relationship of Dallon and Phoenix.

Marriage is an act of will. It requires a commitment to care for another person. By caring we show concern for the life and growth of those whom we love. Marriage requires a commitment to take responsibility for another person. By responding we experience the needs of that other person and try to help meet those needs.

Today, guided by God's love and wisdom, we affirm and celebrate Dallon and Phoenix's wedding day.", the pastor said.

"Before God, your friends, and your families, I ask you to affirm your willingness to enter the covenant of marriage and to share all the joys and sorrows of your lives and your relationship, whatever the future may hold.

Dallon, do you take this woman to be your wife? Do you promise to love her, comfort her, honor and keep her, in sickness and in health as long as you both shall live?", the pastor asked.

"I do.", Dallon smiled.

"Phoenix, do you take this man to be your husband? Do you promise to love him, comfort him, honor and keep him, in sickness and in health as long as you both shall live?"
