"Are you serious?!", Chantelle looks at me wide-eyed and mouth gaping like a fish as we do our art assignments. For some reason, Ms. Davnes decided to make Chantelle and I table buddies for the next two weeks since Vanessa gets too distracted beside me.
"Yes! He legit followed me after I left y'all outside and had me near cornered in the main hallway for what seems like forever.""Oooh someone has an admirer."
"Nope, never gonna happen"
"Who we talkin' about?", I turn around in my seat to Trevor being as nosey as ever and awaiting gossip every class
"Tall guy and Janell flirting apparently", my head snapped to Chantelle in mild confusion.
"Ma'am?!"
"You heard me"
"Oop, Janell don't you have a boyfriend?"
"Yeah Trev, I do and I am in no way ever being deceitful or unfaithful nor unloyal to him."
"So it's Rayshon then?"
"It's always him and this behavior is out of line.
"I can talk to him in math class for you."
"If it keeps him away from me, then yeah go for it, I really do not need this in my life."
"So where is your boyfriend anyway?"
"I wish I knew man."
"What do you mean?"
"He went Danny Phantom."
"Ohhh Shit!"
"Can you please lower your voice?", I said in a panic hushed tone when right on cue Ness came up to our tables with much haste.
"Nah nah what are y'all whisper about over here? Y'all not talking loud enough for me to hear back there""Nothing Nessa, go back to your table before we all get in trouble. I'll tell you later."
"But they get to hear it now."
"Don't go throwing a tantrum now.", Trevor says with a chuckle as his hand wipes down his face and he shakes his head in disbelief, continuing his drawing.
"Shut up Trevor! Mind your own damn business for once."
"You came over here, little girl."
"Vanessa! Where should you be right now? This is exactly why I moved you in the first place.", Ness proceeded to stomp back over toward her table almost across the room and I have a feeling this will be coming back up later.

It was nearing the end of the day and I sat under the big pine tree after being released from class early. It was still a bit chilly outside but being in the south has its weird perks, the sun was shining down upon me and warming me up while also melting the snow on the ground at a pretty fast rate. I decided to do some sketching while I waited for the bell to ring but I couldn't stop myself from thinking about Donnie.
This is not the first time that he's ghosted me before but to be frank, it is tiring especially when I do not know what is going on with him or if he is okay.
The worst seems to come to mind in these moments and I quickly have to shake my head of the negative thoughts.
"Hey."
I shoot my head in the direction of his voice but since he's standing, I have to look up toward the sun as it blinds me in the moment. He takes notice of me squinting and leans down to come sit beside me in the grass.
