__________________________________________________________Vanessa and I enter the house to see my mom sitting on the couch watching TV. At the sound of our presence, she pauses the TV to acknowledge us.
"Hey girls, you had any fun today at school?"
"School was just school mom.", I tried to say nonchalant until Nessa opened her mouth
"Yeah, school was it's usual boring self until I saw Janell and Don exchanging gifts.", I turned my head slightly to Vanessa and glared at her while my mom had an intrigued face.
"Oh he gave you a gift? What did you give him?", mom asked with skepticism in her voice, though Vanessa was still moving her mouth.
"She didn't give him anything, but he sure does like to give gifts. First the bracelet and now this cute little bear.", Vanessa was holding up the bear, that I thought I had took away from her, and handing it over to my mom. I stood there in shock as they basically ganged up on me.
Closely examining the bear, my mom started questioning me. "This is a cute little bear, but what did you have to do for it? What is this about a bracelet? Is that it on your wrist?", Nessa was slightly smiling to herself at the fulfillment of embarrassing me in my own home.
Groaning, out loud, in annoyance I responded to my mom's protective maternal nature. "No mama, I didn't do anything for any stuff and yes this is the bracelet he gave me. It's really cute."
Mom slowly lifted her head up to look me in the eyes before speaking. "You're not keeping this jewelry, the bear is fine but the bracelet isn't."
"Mama! Why not?!?", I can't believe she was acting like this right now, yet I'm not surprised.
"You're not keeping this because he's going to expect something back for this piece of jewelry right here"
"No he's not. He's not like that mama." , I dragged out my sentence with the amount of annoyance I'm holding at the moment and trying to tell my mom that I wouldn't get involved in something like that.
"Whatever, just remember what I told you.", She said while pointing a finger at me. "I'm serious Nella, don't play with me. I made you and Vanessa some pizza, it's in the toaster oven.", she rolled her eyes and continued to press play on the television.
........
My dad came down the stairs with a pep for once, literally an hour after he was suppose to.
"Ya'll ready to go?", he asked looking at all of us. We all said "Yep" and headed out the door.
Vanessa and I were in the car with my cousin and his friends in the back, while they spoke to themselves, I excitedly spoke with Nessa about this lifetime experience that we were enduring.
We neared our rival school, for the game , and it was hectic as ever as we witnessed cars stuck in traffic. Deciding to get out and walk, we followed the huge crowd, with red outfits, to the visitor's entrance. Never in my life have I ever been security checked or policed searched and I can now cross that off my list of the unexpected.
It was pretty much overwhelming with it being night and all, plus the police officer waving a metal detector back and forth across my body. With the way my mind works, I am completely nervous and scared of getting caught with my entirely nonexistent weapon of violence. My mind started conjuring up ways that the police could tackle me and send me to jail as my parents stared at me through glass. Then I was taken out of my daze by some classmates from school greeting me as I walked by and pass the body search area.
