We all walked home, "see y'a soon Rodriguez" I said, winking at him. "Sure thing Levesque" he said, returning the wink. I shook my head and kept walking.

I opened the door to see Luke standing there looking a bit uncomfortable, "hey... what's up?" I said, looking at him, then realizing there was the lady that our dad has been working with in our living room, I think they're together.

"Oh Kins! Glad you're back, this is Brooklyn" he said, as they both stood up. Ugh what? "Hi I'm Kinsley" I said, walking closer to her a little confused but surprised.

Our dad hasn't dated since mom, I'm proud of him actually, he looks happy. "You can call me Brooke" she said, shaking my hand. "I've hear a lot about you" she said, sitting back down. I sat down across the room. As dad joined Luke in the kitchen.

"You have?" I said, putting my elbows on my knees, leaning on them. "Of course I have! Your dad talks about you a lot" she said, leaning forward a bit. "Like what?" I said, a little nervous.

She shook her head, "all good things, like how you are a beautiful you lady and how you are amazing at baseball. Or like how you took care of everyone when they lost hope" she said, smiling at me. I sighed, "well, thank god he only told you that" I said, referring to my anger.

"Oh please, like what?" She said, crossing her arms, expecting me to say something like how I have bad grades or something. I shrugged, "you can tell me, I'm good at secrets" she said, winking at me.

I liked Brooke, I just met her but I could tell she was really nice. She is actually, she made my dad happy and that's all that matters.

"Well I sorta have an anger problem and a trashmouth" I said, chuckling, fidgeting with my hands. She shook her head and giggled, "Well that's nothing to worry about around me" she said, giving me a reassuring, big smile.

I smiled back at her for response, "I actually have to get ready for... something" I said, knowing Luke is eavesdropping. She looked at me confused, which turned into a mischievous smile. She knew, "right, you go do that" she said, winking.

I started walking away, not knowing how to get ready for a date. What do I wear? How do I act? Logan and I never went on dates, it didn't bother me though, I'm really socially awkward when it comes to crowds. Except when I'm being stubborn or proving a point, like the day at the sandlot.

I stopped walking and turned toward Brooke, "Can you actually come her for a sec" I said, looking down at my feet, embarrassed to ask.

Her face turned shocked that I asked, she got up and followed me to my room. I closed the door behind her, "wow you're room is so nice, you've got good style, clothes and decor" she said looking around my room, smiling at me.

"Thank you" I said, smiling at her. I was about to tell her why I needed her but she cut me off. "Ok, let's see what we're working with" she said, opening my closet doors, looking at all my clothes.

I looked at her shocked, "you already know, don't you" I said, standing up and giggling. "I know that face when I see it" she said, putting her hands in her hips, then continuing to go through my clothes.

"Okay well I've noticed that your wardrobe consists of crop tops, straight jeans, ripped jeans, big sweater and t-shits. Which is perfectly fine, that's style. The only thing is I have not seen a dress" she said, putting her hand up to her chin, like she was thinking.

"Yeah, I don't do dresses" I said, rubbing the side of my arm. Dresses make me insecure, I'm not usually but they do. "Well you definitely have the figure and looks" she said, flipping though sweaters on hangers.
