Chapter 9: The date<3

Needless to say, I won the race. Benny was fast, but no one beats Kinsley Levesque in a race. "Okay, I take it back, you're fast" he said, putting his hands on his knees, out of breath.

"I know" I said, sending him a wink. He shook his head and walked beside me. We jogged into the line for ice cream before anyone could get there before us.

"Hi welcome to Scoops, what can I get for y'a" The man dressed in sailors suit asked Benny. "Ugh give us a sec" he said, looking at all the options. The man nodded, there was no one behind us so we weren't holding anyone up.

"What do you want?" He said, smiling at me. "Oh I'll get my own it's fine" I said, smiling back at him. He lowered his eyebrows into a confused look, "what no! I'm paying" he said, turning towards me.

"No, I have money it's fine" I said, showing him the 5 bucks I brought. He snatched the 5 bucks out of my hand and put it in his back pocket, I stood there with my eyebrows raised in shock. "I'm paying and that's final" he said, looking back at all the flavours. "Now what do you want" he looked back at me with a smirk.

"Ugh I don't know" I said, looking at all the different flavours. Then I noticed my favourite since I was little, "cookie dough" I said, pointing at it. "No way, that's my favourite" he said, pulling out 10 bucks and handing it to the guy. "Two cookie dough ice creams please" he said, pointing at the ice cream.

We got our ice creams and sat down at a picnic table. "So, tell me about yourself" Benny said, licking his ice cream. "Benny I've already told you everything... actually my favourite colour, how the hell did you know that" I said, putting my other hand down on the table and licking my ice cream.

He shrugged, "I've noticed you wear it a lot and it's the colour of you jersey" he said, smiling at me. "You notice that stuff?" I said, licking my ice cream. "Yeah, doesn't everyone else" he giggled. "Nope, I guess you're just different" I said, mocking him like how he said it to me at the pool.

He giggled but then stopped to look at something, "hey Kins, that guy over there is looking at you" he said, raising on eyebrow in disgust. I looked over, he looked a little older then us. He was cute but Benny was waaaay cuter.

"Don't worry about it, he's cute but-" Benny cut me off. "Not as cute as me" he said, giving me a boyish smirk. "I don't know about that" I joked.

"You saying I'm ugly?"

"I never said that, but I don't like to lie so-" he cut me off.

His mouth dropped in mock hurt, "oh, ow, that hurt. I felt it in my heart" he said, putting his hand on his chest.

I shook my head and giggled, "you didn't let me finish. I don't like to lie so, that guy over there is nothing compared to you and that face" I said, putting ice cream on his nose, his mouth dropped in shock again.

He wiped it off and put some on mine. My mouth dropped in shock, mocking his. I wiped it off, "okay, where are you taking me?" I said, biting the tops of my cone. Benny was almost done his too.

"Alright let's go, we'll finish the cones on the way" he said, standing up really hyped. He grabbed my hand and started running, making the cone fly right out of my hand.

We both stared at it on the ground, "I am sooo sorry" he apologized, trying not to laugh. I sighed, "it's fiiiine." He let out a bit of laugh by accident, making us both start laughing. "Here, we can share" he handed me his cone. I smiled and took a bite.

"Okay, so there's this place I go just me when I wanna get away. I've never brought anyone else up here so just know-" I cut him off. "I must be pretty important" I said, smirking. He smiled at me, nodding as he led me to a pond.

It was so amazing, I was a pretty big pond surrounded by trees and flowers. You could here birds in the distance and see farmers fields for miles and miles, it looked like something you'd see in a movie.

"Benny this is... beautiful" I said, taking in the view. I looked up at him, he was looking at me smiling. "Almost as beautiful as you" he said, smirking at me.

I put my face in my hands, "god, you're so cheesy", I joked.

"I try" he said, sending me a wink and a boyish smirk. I shook my head, "cmon, we can sit over here" he said, grabbing my hand.

He took me to two metal culverts that came out of a little hill into the water. We both sat on one, dangling our legs and started throwing stones into the pond, "you're the first person I've ever brought up here" he said again, looking at me. "I'm honoured" I said, locking eyes with him for a minute.

We were both looking at each other, not saying a word but, it wasn't awkward. I noticed him glancing at my lips a couple time, the sunset beaming off the water and reflecting in his eyes. Gosh, he is so perfect.

Before I could even say anything, he kissed me.

Benjamin Franklin Rodriguez kissed me.

"I'm sorry I've just been wanting to-" I cut him off, pulling him back in by his shirt and surprisingly, he kissed back. Cupping his hands on my cheeks. I pulled away looking at him,

"I know, I've been wanting to do that too" I said, smiling at him. He smiled back at me with pink cheeks.

We sat there for about 2 hours, which wasn't a problem since we had so much in common. It was getting dark so we decided to go home. Luckily, our walks are never boring when we're together so this long walk was perfect. We walked hand and hand, even when we got closer to our houses.

"We should do this again sometime" he turned to me, grabbing both of my hands. I looked at him with a confused smile, "like a second date you mean?"

His cheeks glowed pink in the light of my front door, "yeah, yeah a second date" he chuckled. "Time and place, lemme know. I'll be there" I winked at him. He smiled, "actually, there's a carnival next week, you wanna go?" He scratched the back of his neck.

I smiled wide, "I'd love too" I kissed him on the cheek.

I let go of his hands, "guess I'll see you tomorrow Rodriguez" I said, blushing a bit. "Sure will Levesque" he said, blushing and smirking at me.

I closed the door, everyone was asleep. I went to my room and plopped down on my bed. I didn't even realize I was smiling at the thought:
