The Owl House Oneshots

Mittens' Secret

Now before this chapter starts, this episode contains spoilers for episode 2 of Owl House season 2, "Escaping Expulsion" and (briefly) one of Lilith's relationships with one of the household members of the Owl House in general. This oneshot contains an interaction that Luz and Amity have in the beginning of the episode, thankfully, that is it.

With that in mind, if you have not seen the episode or do not want spoilers for that episode, then this chapter is not for you and you should skip it.

BEFORE THE EVENTS OF AGONY OF A WITCH:

"Bye Amityyy! Make sure to get some rest!" Luz called out from the entrance of the library. Her and her witch friend had just got done studying, and thank Titan for Amity being extremely smart, or she would've definitely failed.

Amity, still walking, turned slightly and waved back, her other hand tightly clenching her book while her face had a slight pink tint to it.

"Heya Mittens!" Ed and Em popped out from in front of her, and for this, Amity stumbled backwards (thankfully catching herself), but dropped her book.

"Edric! Emira! Don't scare me like that!" Amity knelt down onto the floor and picked up her book, and when she stood up, her siblings were face-to-face with her, eyeing the girl behind her.

"What'cha doin' with your human over there? Were you two making out?" Emira said.

"Or maybe they were flirting? If our little Mittens here was so scared of us before, it must mean that something big went on! Are you two getting married and didn't tell us?!" Edric and Emira both faked gasped.

"You know, I would've liked an invitation or something so that I could see my little sister get married, Mittens. It really hurts that you tried excluding us." Emira set her hands on her hips as she nodded her head, her twin brother following suit.

"Quiet it down!" Amity hushed. She turned around to see Luz looking through Amity's study book, and when she noticed Amity's stare, she poked her head up and waved.

Amity returned the gesture with a soft smile on her face, turning back over to her siblings. "If Luz heard you two say that, she will know about how I really feel about her."

"Oh puh-lease!" Edric wafted his hand. "Like Luz would even get it! If she hasn't noticed how you get red all the time when you're near her and that you literally stare at her all the time, then she's never gonna notice until you actually say it! And even then, would she even understand?"

"Look, Luz has just been going through a lot lately. She said that Eda has been really sick lately and that Luz is worried about her. She doesn't have to see how I feel about her, and I don't even want her to! I'm fine with pining for now." Amity smiled.
