I sit on the bus and wonder how Mia is going to take my appearance, I'm actually scared, I know she has a bad temper and I don't want her to do anything that will land her in jail. The bus gets to the bus and I am the last one off again. As I get off the bus I walk slowly inside the school with a humongous ball of butterflies in my stomach, I see Mia digging inside the locker and I silently walk up to her keeping my head down "Hey Mia" I say , she spins around, damn near knocking me down "Hey Kate!" she replies I look down so that she won't see my face "Scoot over woman" I say, she laughs and step back so that I can gather my things "You look so pretty today! How come I've never seen you in a dress?" She says to my back "Because I don't wear dresses" I reply "Then why are you wearing one today?" she says "I just wanted to do something different" I reply and close the locker "Well you should be different everyday, look people are noticing" she says and I turn around and see people glancing at me "Shit" I whipser, I then get ready to go to my first class "Kate! where are you going? you know I need to get a picture of this moment sinse I probably will never see you in a dress again, unless I'm dreaming about it" Mia says "Double shit" I whisper "Don't panic" is what I say as she pull me into her side to pose. I try to shake a little hair into my face but Mia's not allowing that, she moves my hair but I push away "Mia-" I am cut off by her gasp. I peek at her and she's pale "Mia" i struggle to say "Kate" Mia whispers "What the fuck...happened to your face?" She ask quietly, I want to cry. I look at the floor "I was falling asleep so I slapped myself awake" I lie. She just stares at me "I hope you're joking because that's the worst lie I've ever heard" she says calmly, I flinch, One thing about Mia is that she's never calm, never has been. "I'm going to ask you this , and if you lie, I'm going crazy" she says "Who did this to you?" she ask slowly, I gulp, oh man "It was my foster mom " I says quietly but that's all that she needs. She grabs my arm and pratically drag me out of the school "Oh man" all hells about to break lose , I think.
