"How come I just don't skip school?" I thought as I got off of the bus "Because you actually want to be something and someone when you finally graduate" said a little voice in my head. I sighed and walked up the stairs of the school; heading to my locker I spotted Mia, I automatically felt a jolt of pain shoot through my heart "She left me" I thought to myself "How could she do that?" I felt like crying but I didn't instead I turned around and walked right on back out of the school. "I will not deal with this shit today, I have eight hours until I have to get "home" (Note the sarcasm) and I will not spend it getting picked on..Oh why haven't I been doing this?" I said out loud "BECAUSE you want to be something and someone when you FINALLY graduate, your head is too hard for your own good, but If you feel like skipping school, I have no other choice but to go with you" said the little voice in my head, I sighed and kept walking, distancing myself from the school. Thirty minutes and a lot of talking to my self, I reached the town's mall. I was happy that no one really payed attention to skipping teenagers in this town because I was in really big trouble if they did. I walked until I spotted a bench, I sat down to rest my aching feet and to think, I was broke and I was starving and just thinking about food made me crave the trash known as school food, I figured out pretty quickly that sitting there wasn't going to solve any of my problems. I got up and walked into the mall, It wasn't packed but I wasn't surprised; The second thing I noticed as I entered the mall was the 'Help Wanted' sign in the Ice Shack. I loved the Ice Shack, I loved the ice cream, I loved how homey the whole place felt even though it was in a popular crowded place, it still stood out like no other from the polished Cherry Wood floors, the corny fall wall paper, the cinnamon smell that always hovered in the air, and of course the many flavors of ice cream. The Ice Shack was also the oldest thing in the mall, everything else was upgraded and fancy, It also gave me great memories of me and my mom when we would go there to celebrate my good grades "Are you going to move or just stand in the door entrance young lady" said a voice behind me. I turned around and saw a white haired lady glaring at me "I-m sorry" I said as I moved, she just rolled her old eyes and walked past me "Little rat should be in school" she mumbled. I looked back at the Ice Shack "I could really use a job" I said to myself as I walked into the place.
