"MIA, SLOW DOWN" I shouted as Mia shot through traffic "Please!, You're going to kill us" I say holding onto my seat for dear life. She let out a sigh and slows down, I think my heart dropped when that happened "Thank you" I breathe out "Kate listen, when we get to your house, go pack your stuff" I turn and look at her, Is she joking? It's not going to be that easy I think "It's not going to be that easy" I say "Said who?" she replies. I sit back in the seat and pray, that's the only thing that I can do at that point. We finally get to the house and I'm panicking, Mia steps out the car "C'mon" She says and I obey. We walk up the stairs "Damn alcoholics" I hear Mia mutter as she opens the door we walk into the house and I see my foster mom sitting on the couch watching TV. We step further into the house and the floor board creeks, causing my step mom to to turn around "What the fuck are you doing here? You dropping out too? Didn't I say I didn't want to see your face? Who the hell is she?" She say standing up and glaring at Mia and I, "None of your fucking buisness bitch, Kate go get your shit and hurry" Mia says. At that point, my brain freezes and I can't move "It is my buisness and watch how you're talking to me little girl and if you think MY daughter is going ANYWHERE with you, you're highly wrong" my step mom says to Mia. Mia Scoffs "YOUR daughter? you're crazy and yes, she's going with me, now kate GO" at that exact the door flung open and in walked my foster mom's boyfriend, "Joe!" My foster mom yells and runs over to him, so that's HIS name, I think "Teresa" he says back, so that's HER name, it's weird how I never actually knew their names until now "Kate is trying to run away with this..little whore" she says giving Mia a dirty look. It takes all of my power to hold Mia back from killing the evil woman "Oh really?" he says giving Mia a look over "Yes, and Kate punched me in the nose last night" she said and smirked, everyone gasp except Teresa "Oh really?" Joe said again "Yup" Teresa confirmed. Joe stared at me for a long time then he grunted "I'm going to the store, we need beer" he stated before turning and leaving Teresa just muttered something we could not here "She's my legal daughter what ever your name is and she's not leaving unless you want to deal with the police, I suggest you leave" we were both taken aback by her words "You Bi-" Mia said before being cut off "I said you can LEAVE before the police gets involved" Mia turned to me looking pale "I'll talk to you later, Kate" she said before she turned and walked out the door. I just blinked..and blinked some more, Did that just really happen? I felt tears coming down my face, that was it, no one could save me. Teresa looked at me "You are a sneeky little brat, did you think that you were going to leave?" she said and then spit on me. I looked down to the glob of saliva on my dress "Go to your room" she said and that was all I needed, I turned and ran to my room closing and locking my door before falling on my single mattress to cry.
