I entered the Ice Shack and almost burst in my tears. Everything was the same, it felt like déjà vu as I looked around and took in my surroundings; how could a place look and smell the same for a decade? My attention soon went to the the far end of the old fashioned booth that was built against the wall, I felt hot tears slide down my face as I remembered how me and my mother sat there once a month eating the same ice cream and laughing about any and everything, it hurt so bad. As I stood there crying and staring at the booth like a weirdo I felt a soft cloth wipe the trail of tears away, I immediately jumped back just to see a fairly well aged woman looking at me with worry "Are you OK darling" she said with a hint of southern in her voice. I just stared at her, I REMEMBERED her! I believe she's the owner I thought "Honey you were just crying now you look like you've seen a ghost, c'mon and get some water, I don't want you fainting now" she said pulling me to a old fashioned wooden chair "Now you sit on right there, I'll be right back, don't you go no where" she said, as I sat there while she got me a cup of water I took the time to actually study her. Her greying black hair was pulled into a French twist and she was wearing a checkered white and red dress, her shoes, believe it or not was white nursing shoes, I liked her already. "Here drink this darling" she said giving me a cup of water "Thank you" I said finishing the water in three gulps "My, you must have been quite thirsty" she chuckled, I just nodded "Are you OK now?" She asked, I nodded again "OK, so how may I help you miss.." She trailed off "Katelyn" I said finishing her sentence "OK miss Katelyn, I'm Susanna and how may I help you today?" She asked taking my cup "Nice to meet you , I actually came here because I saw the 'Help Wanted' sign in the window and I really need a job and I used to come here with my mother but things happend so I wasn't able to come here anymore.." I trailed off to the sound of her laughter "Calm down darling! Of course you can work here!" She said. I just stared at her "Oh my god! Thank you! Can I have a job application?" I said "Job applications are too much work, you're hired and I'm assuming you're a High Schooler so be here at three-thirty tomorrow" she said. I couldn't breathe, I was so happy "Thank you!" I squeeled almost crushing her with a hug "No problem. One more thing darling" she said "Yes?" I asked "You'll be working with my nephew" She answered. "Couldn't be that bad" I thought. Boy was I wrong.
