I followed her. I didn't know why but in that moment, I felt anxious and like Alexia was trustworthy. We weren't in the village anymore. We were outside of it, walking through the forest. I could see a little cabin up ahead. I wondered who would live outside like this, when they would be safer inside the village
"Where are we going?" I asked as I stepped over a log
"You'll see" Alexia answered. Women were secretive, I knew that but I never understood why, being a woman myself, I thought it seemed normal but the reason that I was so secretive was because I didn't know who to trust and who to run from
"Who lives there?" I asked
"You'll see" Alexia answered. I sighed, maybe it was just a warrior thing. Secrecy wasn't really meant for all women, I knew that because in the first five minutes that I had met Abby, she had played her cards too soon, showed her fear and told me her name, even though I could've been dangerous. I really hoped that she was okay. I heard a twig snap from behind me. I turned around and no one was there. I shook my head and caught up with Alexia
"Did you hear that?" I asked her, she kept walking, her expression was concealed from my view
"It was probably just an animal" Alexia shrugged, I kept walking until I was tackled to the ground. The person had their foot planted on my back. I winced
"Alexia! You brought a stranger into my home? Why?" the person asked, it was a woman. I was beginning to think that maybe Savages bought into Gender specific roles. Except instead of the women having to stay home with the kids, it was the men which I would actually pay to see you know if my people used money
"She was looking for you. She's not a threat. I can assure you of that" Alexia said. I huffed whoever this lady was, I liked her.
"Looking for me? Why?" the woman asked
"She will tell you if you get off of her back" I said bitterly, the pressure on my back was gone and I stood up. I saw her. Well, not entirely, she had a green jacket and a hood that covered her face but she had red hair that I could only see because it was long enough to poke out of the hood. She was around my height. But I found myself intimidated by her
"Why are you looking for me?" she asked
"I'm looking for my mother. I don't know who you are" I stated, she looked to Alexia who just nodded her head and then back to me. She lowered the hood and I knew instantly. She had the same eyes as me. The same eyes that I had spent years wondering about.
"Mom?"
